Partial Review Will Update Latter!
Dazzling320October 31, 2024
Firstly, I’d like to mention that my surgery was recent, so I can’t fully judge the results yet. My results aren’t exactly what I expected compared to the before-and-after photos, but I’m willing to wait a few more weeks to see any changes. However, one area where Dr. Selim Turan definitely needs improvement is in patient care quality. If you’re a foreign patient like me, don’t expect him to personally respond to your messages; only his assistants do, as he seems more focused with his new patients. This lack of personal interaction is disappointing, as I believe every patient deserves direct communication from their doctor, especially after placing trust and paying a considerable amount for the service. One of his assistants is more empathetic. I believe her name is Toughe.
Additionally, hygiene practices need improvement. During my wound care, the nurse didn’t use gloves or a mask, and she was handling her phone while connecting Dr Turan to a video consultation. I’m also doubtful whether the metal cannula used for suction was replaced for each patient since I saw secretions in the tube from previous patient. The main issue is that doctor takes on so many patients that it prevents him from giving each one the care they deserve. It is been several days since I returned to my home country and none of them have reach out to me yet, which is not pleasant. I’ll update my review in a few weeks, hoping the results will justify the uncomfortable recovery and the effort of traveling for this surgery.
My recommendation for anyone considering going to Turkey for this surgery is to think it through carefully. In most cases, the hospital staff won’t speak English, and most taxi drivers try to scammed on you which can make the experience more stressful than it already is for something like a rhinoplasty.

A year after complicated revision with Dr Selim
Dazzling320October 9, 2025
It’s been a year since the surgery, and I want to share my most honest update. The surgery was quite complicated and painful, as expected, and I recognize that mine was a complex case. However, ever since the doctor operated on me, I’ve had a mark that seems to be from an internal stitch, since he had to do a difficult reconstruction from a previous surgery.
The surgery itself wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. First of all, I didn’t like the mark that was left (didn’t have it before) —it’s been a year, and it’s still somewhat visible. I had also asked the doctor for a slightly curved nose, like Barbie’s, but not too exaggerated, and it ended up being very straight.
I want to think that it might still improve over the next few months, but this review is mainly for people who, like me, have a complicated case—to let them know that nothing is guaranteed, and they make you sign that on paper. I think Dr. Selim is talented, but I’m not sure if complex cases can also turn out successful. I’m open to hearing honest comments and opinions, and I hope to post another update in about six months to share how I’m progressing.
