How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

Update 2022
Just decided to post another after photo. This update photo is me in gray top. I love how my nose makes me feel like a Barbie —black Barbie :) I still remember the consultation and surgery like it was yesterday, this is just to speak on the doctor’s likable personality, and I’m so happy I decided to do the revision. From the tile wall/bathroom up close photos those are after photos too. I still want to eventually fix my nostrils to match but am focusing on getting other surgeries at the moment because this is a minor thing I don’t like. Will probably reach out to Kim next year to inquire about making my nostrils match better (it’s more noticeable in the up close photos)
Revision Rhinoplasty African American
I am African American and had Revision Rhinoplasty with Dr Murray in 2018. My original Rhinoplasty was with Dr. Alejandro Hernández Pizzoglio for around $6000 and I believe it was in 2017. He was horrible and spoke little English and did not at the time know the importance of using cartilage from like a cadaver for African American noses since our noses typically are squishy and not hard and pointy like Caucasians but that is a different review for a different day perhaps.
Anyways, I decided on Dr Murray because of a referral and my second option (only due to distance). I was originally set on Dr. Adam J. Oppenheimer (he was closer only an hour away instead of 4 hours for Dr Murray) but long story short after sending him my pics he kindly through his staff declined to do my surgery. He said he recommended Dr Murray as he is one of the best surgeons to do rhinoplasty. I already knew of Dr Murray through my own research so I just decided then that I was going to Dr Murray.
I loved literally Dr Murray the moment I met him. His personality is very blunt and to the point which I liked. He told me straight up after hearing what I was aiming for if he did not think he could or would want to achieve my desires then he would tell me he would not do the surgery period basically. He said he listens carefully to how each patient describes their desired outcome and he is very upfront on if he will do the surgery or not. He mentioned he does not accept a lot of patients because of their unrealistic exceptions or something phrased like this which I respected.
He was so fascinating because he really educated me on why I had a failed initial rhinoplasty and how rhinoplasty for African Americans is suppose to be performed. I asked him why did my first rhinoplasty seem to come out beautifully at first with Dr Hernandez and then a month later why did it try to go back shaping itself almost like my original nose.
He said my nose lacked support. He said African Americans need cartilage to support their noses and to get that one needs cartilage from a cadaver or my own rib, he said its safer to just take it from a cadaver. He let me touch is pointy nose and said see why its so hard its because I have cartilage and he said now touch your nose and mines was squishy and easy to push in and he said its because you lack cartilage.
It all made sense when he explained everything. I was 1000 percent confident when I left my consultation because I was willing to pay almost anything if I could afford it to fix my now pig shaped nose.
I was quoted around $12,000. The surgery took 6 or 8 hours. I remember going in at the crack of morning and waking up and it was very dark outside. I remember me saying wow I was under a long time and Dr Murray saying he is a perfectionist and he wanted to make right every part of my nose that he could. He made this clear before going into surgery he would take however long it would take to make sure its near perfect.
I took a long time to write this review mainly because I wanted anonymity and now I am reflecting on things such as my surgeries and how reviews help others and I am so appreciative of my new nose considering he really had to do miracles for my botched nose.
As you can see in pictures one side of my nostrils is a little off and that is the ONLY thing I do not wholeheartedly like, BUT Dr Murray made it clear before surgery he will try his best to make the nostrils even but he cannot guarantee it. It is not super noticeable and makeup makes it look better. I never came back for the post operative visit even though I said I would also...
Now, if you look at the blue background pictures of my simulated outcome the corners of my nose (not sure of proper term for them) they are not as thin as that in real life but I am satisfied. I feel like my nose fits my African American features and anything small would scream plastic surgery or Michael Jackson or Lil Kim nose. Looking from the front overall with my body and whole face I have a very cute nose. I asked during the consultation that I wanted my nose to look as much as possible to the model's Jayde Pierce's nose and I personally feel like it's similar to hers.
Overall I'm very happy! I am considering later in life to correct the nostril but I am scared of the potential costs and also the potential for a bad outcome so I may just never have another revision!
