My eyes are now symmetrical. I am way more confident when I look at myself in the mirror

I had a revision upper eyelid surgery with Dr Choy in Aug-21. I had my first upper eyelid surgery 18 years ago in Singapore. The surgeon didn’t do a great job causing asymmetrical result. My right eyelid was bigger than the left. I went back 4 years later to have a revision surgery and the surgeon only did a revision surgery on my left eye only. The result was ok for a few years. Due to aging, after a few years, my right eyelid became droopier and looks smaller. I was very self-conscious about my eyelids being different. I was contemplating on getting another revision for at least 10 years. During lockdown I finally decided that I want to get another revision and I decided to go with Dr Choy.

During my first consultation, Dr Choy was very thorough with explaining the process and what to expect from double eyelid surgery. He showed me pictures of his customers who have had eyelid surgery. He also made sure he knows what my expectation is. I want a natural look and my main expectation is to have symmetrical eyelids. He suggested for me to get the revision for both eyes to avoid having more issue with my eyes being asymmetrical in the future.

Going to the surgery was terrifying for me but the nurses were very friendly and calmed me down. The surgery was done in the Northbridge clinic. The whole process of surgery took 1 hour. The most painful part was the local anaesthetic injection, after that I couldn’t feel anything. Dr Choy and the nurses made me feel so comfortable. We chatted during the surgery.

I had the sutures removed 1 week after the surgery. During this consultation, Dr Choy took some pictures and also showed me comparison of pictures of before surgery, during surgery and after surgery.

My eyes were very swollen post-surgery but I could see and feel that the swelling is going down slowly day by day. I am glad that I have got the surgery. My eyes are now symmetrical. I am way more confident when I look at myself in the mirror. I have met a few of my friends post surgery and most of them don’t even notice that I have had a surgery, which is what I want because I have requested Dr Choy that I want a very natural look. Dr Choy did a great job with my revision eyelid surgery and I will recommend him to anyone who are thinking about getting an eyelid surgery.
