Now at six weeks
Things still changing and shifting teach week a little but I feel, for the first time, I’m not catching sight of myself in mirror and going “ omg That’s a big difference — it must be so noticable”. It’s actually not been noticable to anyone including my mother and childhood best friend who i visited last week (though I’m sort of stunned with my best friend since she FaceTimed me while I had stitches in and I couldn’t get audio-only happening and she saw me! But she didn’t say anything... I can’t believe she didn’t— but I went with it!).
Anyway here is an update photo. I just think there is a “catch up” phase where your brain can finally look at your face and go “oh that’s me”. And It’s taken my brain about 6 weeks!

Review of Dr Jacono — Lip Lift
I am 54 and regularly get taken for younger, but my upper lip was my problem and I had long given up on it. I honestly thought there was nothing i could do to change it. I basically had no upper lip, had a load of smoker lines despite not smoking — how?— and felt it was the part of my face that aged me most. I’d had a disastrous attempt to get rid of the lip lines with Botox the year before and saw my upper lip become longer and my whole look and smile dulled.
I’d heard of Dr Jacono and his amazing deep plane facelifts and his incredible pro bono work with Healing the Children — performing cleft palate surgeries on babies and children during missions abroad several times a year, and so I had him on my radar as my Dr for my “down the road surgery”. I decided to meet with him this past summer to get game plan in place for future possible surgery, and miraculously, 2 weeks before my consult appt, Dr Jacono posted before and after photos of a lip lift he had just done on his Instagram feed. I couldn’t believe it. There was a procedure that could solve my problem. I realized for the first time that I actually had a really long phitrum — and that that Botox I had had made my upper lip length worse and that’s why my smile changed. I could see that shortening the length would brighten everything.
I met with Dr Jacono and he agreed that a lip lift was would make a huge difference to my face. “It’s a no brainer” I believe he said! He told me i would be so happy with the results.
I booked for as soon as possible and —ta da! — I’m now one month post surgery. As DrJacono predicted, the lip lift he performed has changed my face so so beautifully. People don’t notice a thing about my lips, they just say i look so good! My daughter who knew i was doing this cannot believe it. She tells me i look amazing. But still me! And that exactly what I wanted.
Dr Jacono did the most amazing job. He’s not only a skilled surgeon and meticulous, but he truly is an artist. I knew from his other work that his eye and instinct for where balance in a face lies, are spot on.
Dr Jacono has assembled a wonderful team of nurses and staff who could not have taken better care of me. And his amazing office manager, Jamie, was there for me every step of the way. The office are beautiful and comfortable and private. I really felt the care and kindness of this wonderful group of people and of Dr Jacono.
I cannot recommend Dr Jacono highly enough. He’s just the best!
