Lumps, uneven appearance, more pronounced hollows & Tyndall effect

Terrible Results and Experience

I underwent filler treatment with Dr. Lewen on October 5, 2023, for hollowness in the inner corner of my eyes. Unfortunately, the procedure did not go as expected, and the outcome has been problematic for the past four months. The treatment resulted in lumps, an uneven appearance with more pronounced hollows due to incorrect placement, particularly on one side, and a Tyndall effect . Filler was also placed above the brow creating lumps and a Neanderthal effect. You can see the disfiguring effects of the treatment in the before-and-after pictures attached for reference. Tyndal was also an issue but I noticed that o er a week after the injection.
When I voiced my concerns, Dr. Lewen's office ceased communication and abrupt termination of patient - Dr relationship and offered no referral for further help. I asked for referrals multiple times because you cannot go and get filler dissolved easily like in the lips as this is a dangerous area, but they just did not respond. Other doctors I have seen have been reluctant to correct the issues near the crease ( they removed the lumps and prominent brows but that’s it) due to potential risks to my eye health, and I've been advised to return to the original injector. This, however, is not an option as Dr. Lewen has ceased communication with me.
Initially, I left a review on Google, which was removed as reviews are easily removed on Google) and then on Yelp. Following the Yelp review , Dr. Lewen contacted me after being idle for months, proposing a partial refund in exchange for a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and removal of the pictures. I originally contemplated accepting the offer as trying to find a resolution is costing me thousands and removed the review, but ultimately I declined his offer, as I think it's important to share my experience and prevent similar incidents for others. My silence cannot be bought. I owe this to the community and if this review can help even if just one person make an informed decision, then this painful experience will have served a purpose.
Overall, my experience with Dr. Lewen's office has been marked by miscommunication, unsatisfactory results, and a lack of post-procedure support. The office's response to my concerns was inadequate, and the lack of transparency regarding treatment details was troubling ( no details about the placement and amount of filler in each eye despite me asking multiple times) . The overall impact on my eye health and appearance has been extremely negative, leading me to rate the service as 1 star.

Same issue and I was left with a double bubble by Dr Lewen in 2017-2018..
In Nov 2024 its still apparent but Dr Ryan Greens fabulous and skilled NP helped to mitigate the appearance of it in 2021..so now I'm almost ready for a touch up from her.
I can never recommend him for facial fillers, just doesn't have the skill or capabilities to produce an esthetically pleasing result .
Fillers are for more artistically inclined practitioners..just my humble opinion.
