Several Restylane Fillers and Skin Care Products Purchased

I saw Dr. Rostami for restalyne fillers + skin care products. I have had seen several board certified several plastic surgeons form my fillers and for skin care product. I have also been to poor quality med spas for other treatments. Overall, I really like Dr. Rostami. Below are some thoughts: Pros:

- Dr. Rostami has a great deal of credentials. I felt that she was respectable. I was happy with my results. She's double board certified in ophthalmology, so if you're seeing her for eye-related issues, you're in good hands.

- The center she runs features many different skin procedures which makes things convenient. You can see them for virtually any skin issue you're facing from stretch marks to dark circles to acne issues.

- They take before/after pictures seriously. Before your treatment, you sit in a special photo room with very precisely-placed stickers for consistent before/after photos. I've been to some doctors where photos are taken on iphones and ipads or on regular cameras in poorly lit rooms. I understand using those for hard to see areas, but for fillers? Ridiculous.

- They validate parking! Nice touch for the DC area where parking alone can set you back 20-30 dollars when seeing a doctor.

- They have many specials and deals by the month as well as a discount during your birthday month. This is rare for reputable plastic surgeons. Usually gimmicks used by med spas that are unsupervised by a plastic surgeon.

- Nice and clean facilities. I've been to some surgeons offices that look less steller.

- Staff are generally good. Front desk is always friendly and receptive. In my experience, the business manager can have an attitude problem...I'd try to avoid him.

The esthetician is extremely patient, professional, and takes time to explain things to you. I never feel like she's trying to sell any product or treatment to you. She seems honest, but her knowledge seems limited. She tends to give you lots of vague non-answers that draw on her personal experience as opposed to her education or science, studies, research, or medical expertise. You feel like you're speaking to a YouTube skin guru rather than a medical professional in a plastic surgeon's office. If you're getting procedures done by her, make sure you ask Dr. Rostami any questions you have in case she can't answer them. I say this goes for any esthetician. They're more affordable, but their knowledge is limited.

Cons:

- Even when taken to the back, the wait areas are not private at all (very thin, see-through curtains separate just 3-4 very closely placed chairs all facing the same direction) and can make shy patients uncomfortable. Thank god no one has tried talking to me while I was waiting. You will be numbed and pre-treated in patient rooms but then sent back to wait. Sometimes you'll wait for a very long time...but that's to be expected from doctors.

- Sometimes it can feel like a med spa as opposed to a doctor's office, but it's not as bad as other places.

These are my honest reactions to seeing Dr. Rostami, all in all, I do recommend them and I will continue to go back!
