at age 54 I was ready to 'freshen up' my face and neckline. The infomercial made it seem so easy, with quick recovery. LIES
IT WAS PAINFUL! Shots all over my face that hurt like hell, wore off quickly and caused tremors in my arms and hands along with a racing heartbeat. The 'sedation', one blue valium about 5 minutes before they started the damn shots. They use those 5 minutes to shove paperwork in my face about the massive amount of 'aftercare' you would have to do.
The smell of burning flesh made me need to gag, which got me yelled at by the nurse that was helping .
When they were finally done, I was already feeling more pain as the facial anesthetic shots kept wearing off during the procedure were now REALLY wearing off. I was handed a prescription for pain med and out the door. By the time my husband got to the pharmacy, I was left in the car crying in pain until he could get the prescription filled and back out to the car. Additionally the massive number of shots in my face now created a fierce headache. From the neck up, I was in complete misery with pain, swelling, headache and TEETHpain (not Tooth - TEETH) as they had inflamed some dental nerves as well apparently.
Sleep was almost impossible for the next 3 days unless I was knocked out by pain meds.
My face got swollen and HOT. I called the office three times, and was told this was 'normal' and on the third call was told I was overreacting and he would see me in 4 days on my stitch removal visit.
I finally called the dr on the medical service from his 'regular office' (not the LSL office) and he called in an antibiotic for me.
Day 7 go for stitch removal -- good luck seeing the dr. They seem to time these appointments for days and times that he is not there. The 'nurse' removing the stitches got a weird look on her face and went and got someone, then I sat for an hour until the dr. could see me ------ the heat and swelling - CELLULITIS (look that one up and see how bad it is).
Fast forward through 3 more weeks of bruising, swelling, pain and discomfort before I could go out in public at all (with heavy makeup). No noticeable results.
Fast forward 6 month. Shooting pains around my ears, have to use a neck pillow because if I roll over in my sleep to sleep on my side - the pain wakes me up. Even small earrings would hurt after a short period of time.
To add to all of this - plastic 'fishing line' was poking at my skin and making bead like lumps, the would pop out through the skin in some places.
I can never wear my hair up or pulled back again because of the crazy lumps (as thick as a finger) behind my ears
Fast forward 1 year - still have shooting burning pains from time to time for no reason (probably nerve damage), I am out a lot of money, and no 'improvement'. (I paid extra for lipo of the neck/chin area).
Fast Forward 18 months - still uncomfortable, still have lumps that apparently will never resolve/go away, still have hard bumps from fishing line sutures under the skin.
As for my treatment (or horrible LACK OF) by the doctor and staff-----
equivalent to malpractice in my book.
Lawsuit - yeah, good luck with that, I would need another $10k to retain a lawyer because they won't consider this case on a contingency basis because of the difficulty of trying to win. LSL paperwork is carefully worded in ways that really really protect them.
Sorry, I am NOT going to post a photo, because I never want any of my friends to realize how stupid I was.
I wish I had read REALSELF first!!!!! I would have just saved up another $5k and then taken my money to go to a REAL PLASTIC SURGEON instead of this 'McDonald's Drive Thru' version of a plastic surgeon.
