5 mo post op

I can hardly believe I am five months postop. It is still painful at times-not terribly so, but twinges, tightness, discomfort.
At this point, looking back, I wish there were things I had done -like I wish that I had taken better care of my skin and started earlier with creams and lotions. I know that I was very fearful of getting things like that on healing incisions, but I think it would have improved my results. I've developed new stretch marks bs that rely Adsense.
I still think that I will end up needing a revision on my left hip. The doctor thought it was still swelling, but I don't think so-I believe it's a little bit of extra skin and fat that was left behind and it has created a little lump on my left hip. We will take care of that soon enough.
Happy Healing, ladies!

Oh my gosh you look amazing! You have such a beautiful hourglass figure ❤ I totally agree with you on treating the skin with creams to prevent/help stretch marks! I wish I would have thought to do that!

My scar looks just like yours and I've used silicone sheets for two months. And now I'm totally hyper focused on the remaining stretch marks on my hips and lower belly. Geez.

I've been using Skin Medica and Scar Esthetic on mine- and I kept mine taped for 12 weeks. It's completely smooth, but the incision is redder. I received my Embrace today - gonna try it. I, however, have grown new stretch marks! I see a laser treatment(s) in near future...

It's amazing to me that there are days that I wake up and look so thin, with a tiny waist - then by 5 pm, the area under my belly button is so swollen. Feels like a tight, but squishy water balloon! My emotions are on pendulum - from glee to heartbreak, wondering when it will just go away???

I think you look great!!! My doctor said it would take a year to a year and a half to heal! I feel the same as you do sometimes. But it's reassuring to know that tomorrow morning it'll look better again

Thank you, Leev! You are looking gorgeous, too! I've accepted the year thing, that's my doctor told me as well. Urghhhhh...

Hang in there it takes time. For me I have noticed that it's swelling when it's superficial underneath the skin surface. But sometimes the bulge is just me eating food. Try not to examine it every day...Once I stopped doing that I just felt better emotionally. You have an amazing result. Do your core exercises and eat right...You will be great!

Salt will make it worse, too! Trust me, after 40, salt is your mortal enemy!
April 27, 2017
Oh, I love salt! Pink Himalayan from whole foods is what I use - I tell myself that it's the healthier version...

Maybe I need to just quit looking. I'm back to hot yoga/vinyasa, 6 days per week and I'm walking 5 mi, every other day, with a smidge of weight trying...hoping to be full force soon!

You look amazing ! I too have those internal pleats and it's driving me insane ... one side sticks out more ... ugh .. how are urs ? Are the completely gone now ?
April 27, 2017
Thank you! ❤️ My right side is just beautiful, but my left - urghhhh. I have one pleat left and a little hunk of meat above the incision. Dr. P says its just swelling and will straighten out in time, but I dunno! He did say if it's still there in another 8 mos., he will repair it. I'll post new pics soon - been so busy catching up at work, I've not had much time for RS. ;(

Mine is on my right it's where my drain was and I feel like it's gonna be a little doggy ear ... my doc says 6 months post op he could revise it with local anesthesia if it's still there ... only problem is im in CT he's in Miami lol hubby says not to worry it's an excuse for a vacation ! So we will see ! At least you can hide it well under clothes bc u look amazing !!

I've been following you- I'm 3 months out. Same thing- my upper abdomen is still really swollen. I almost look like a B from the side. Right side is awesome with the curves. Dr Pyle says it's swelling and I know it is too but I'm so tired of it! Ugh!!
