I've been wanting this for a looooooooooooooooong time. My hubby asked if I wanted this surgery or a diamond for my 40th and I chose this! I used to be a runner but, after having 3 kids, those days are long over. I constantly struggle with that last 5-10 pounds of baby weight that I haven't been able to lose after my third baby (four years ago). I'm 5'4" and weigh around 135lbs. I weighed 125lbs before I had kids. I exercise 2-3 days/week. Just walking and light weights. I wear a 36B bra. Not looking to really go up too much in size (maybe a mid-C). Just want them back up where they used to be and be able to not wear a bra. Ideally they would look just like my boobs when I was 25! :) Hoping the liposuction will help the saddlebags that have plagued me for YEARS. Even when I was running 10Ks and marathons I always had that little extra baggage. I hope lipo really works!!!!?

I'm more concerned about the recovery from the liposuction. Compression garments for 6-8 weeks in the middle of summer? I must have lost my mind! Bruising down to my ankles for up to 8 weeks? Ugh.

My 40th birthday is July 18th. I want to be 40 and FABULOUS. This is MY year! Dreading the journey of this surgery. Excited for the results! Surgery is scheduled for July 9th and I've paid in full. Eeek!

Please give me some tips on what I need to purchase beforehand. Thanks in advance! Will post before photos soon....

Surgery is July 9th and bday is July 18th? I think realistically you'll be 40 and in a lot of pain! ;) But give it a few more weeks after and your belated bday gift will be a fab bod for sure!! Good luck!

I know that my 40th won't be the fantastic blow out that it should have been. I'm planning a quiet, casual dinner out with a group of girlfriends. I figure 9 days post-op I'll be ready to get out of the house. :)

Yes, you should be good to go for a few hours by day 9. My daughter had a tattoo scheduled 30 minutes away and I managed to drive her there and sit through the 1 1/2 hours we were there just fine. Tomorrow I'm taking my mom and two of my daughters to the movies-this time I'll make sure I take my Tylenol before leaving, lol.

That's a great gift 39andHolding! I too will be 40 this year. I'm 9 days post op and still learning from this process. I had a full TT w/ lipo, a BL w/aug, (540/575cc saline implants) and lipo of outer thighs-WOW. This site can be a supportive, helpful, and informative place, but it can also make you worry a little so don't be afraid to ask questions, especially of your surgeon. You mentioned prep; you can check my profile out for a list of the things I bought, or prepared so I was ready for this surgery. I did end up getting a few more items than what was on the original list as I found I needed them. Not everything was used, and everyone's list is slightly different. I can tell you for a fact that what I appreciated most was my walker, (for the 1st 5 days) a toilet seat riser, my recliner and abundance of pillows, my shower stool, and pain meds. For my meds I used my iPad to make my daily list of everything I had to take as well as used the timer on my phone so I didn't miss a dose-of anything! I had 4 prescribed meds to take: antibiotic-Keflex, pain-Norco, anti nausea-Zofran, and a muscle relaxer-Valium. Added to that, I took colace and ate prunes for those 1st several days. I've now finished taking all my prescribed meds, for the exception of a refill of Norco, of which I got off track of and paid for it with pain I thought would have already gone away. :( I got into a bad habit of overdoing it, thinking I was wonder woman. I now take 1/2 anywhere from 4-6 hours and if needed, 2 extra-strength Tylenol in between. This healing process is no joke. Even simple things like sweeping and loading the dishwasher can be tiring so make sure you have a good support system in place and don't stress about the house. Luckily, I've got an amazing husband who did everything from helping me sit, get up, prop my pillows, empty my drains, get up w/me to take my meds, shower, etc. For the 1st couple days you will probably need help with almost every move you make-and that's ok. It's all a process and I don't regret it one minute. I wish you lots of luck and quick healing! Keep updating, it really does help.

How do y'all take pictures of yourselves?!?! This was so hard and my pix are awful. Anyway, here I am. See how my butt just rolls right into my upper leg? Yuck. My straight on photos of my butt is downright disgusting! See how my boobs are completely deflated? Double yuck. Can't wait for July 9th!
