Dr. Hudak is an expert in these surgeries. I highly recommend her. She gave me lots of tips on minimizing bruising so after 2 weeks almost all the bruising and swelling was almost gone. Honestly, I wish I had done it earlier and saved time and money. It worked great! I had tried expensive creams, Exillis, and also Dysport/Botox near the bags. They all helped a little, but finally as I neared 50yrs old, they weren't helping. It made being 50 a little easier. These are my own before/after pictures after 3 weeks. I made the pictures as similar as I could.

I know! I can hardly believe how delicate the incisions are. I hope my pictures are clear. I mixed before and after together in this order: before - after -before - after, etc.

Were your eyes badly swollen and bruised after surgery? I just got a lower lid bleph and it looks like someone inserted golf balls under my lower lids and my bruising extends from under my eyes to below my cheekbone and range in color from bright red to black. I'm very upset so would like to know what you looked like 3 days post op. Thanks!!!

Yes, I was swollen and bruised down to my about my cheek bone. It was scary bc I thought it would lever go away, but it did. Total swelling didn't go away for about 5 weeks though. I'll post pictures tonight. How are you doing now?

What tips did you have for bruising and swelling?
January 25, 2016
Hi - Well she gave me a long list of blood thinning things to avoid, like red wine, ibuprofen, and many more. You can find a list on the web, I guess. Also take Arnica a homeopathic pill 3 days before and for at least a week after. I'll have to remember the dosage and update later. Also, vit. C for a week before and she recommended 2 months after but I didn't keep up with it.

She also had me keep little bags of cold peas over my eye continuously for 48 hrs. This means I had to wake up and change them out every two hours. That was hard. And stay propped up in a recliner or similar for 2 days also. It was a good excuse to get out of work and chores. I listened to books on tape and slept. (she gave me valium so I would stay put. )

Someone asked about the swelling a few days after. Here are some recovery photos. Bruising went away in 3 weeks but swelling took 5 weeks. I'm at 6weeks now so I included a current picture.
