51 Yr Old Deflated Saline Implant Right Side MOREA MESSED UP - Raleigh, NC

I had saline implants for 12 the right side deflated Dr Morea was chosen by me because of his reputation and he performed the surgery in dec 2014 i followed all directions but right breast side of deflation remained hard and about six inches higher than the left side to sych a degree that i had to wear baggy shirts for three months finally after complaining i was told to take ibuprofen and wear a band around my breasts 24-7 this is not standard with Dr morea he doesnt use bands to bind the breasts. To keep them from moving up out of the pockets after surgery although most Drs do this after a month of Ibuprofen twice a day ( about as much as ones kidneys can handle before shutting down) I called the office told them i needed to come back in the breast on the right eas still mych higher and i couldnt safely take ibuprofen for much longer I was reassured Dr Morea will fix breasts after 6 Months if not acceptably aligned WHICH THEY WERE NOT. Id been wantung . Tummy tuck si since my rt breast was still higher than the left I thought Ill see Dr Morea after all I will be under anesthesia for the fix for my breast might as well do tummy tuck st same time ,imagine my surprise when . Was shown an estimate for nearly 6K to fix the breasts id just paid to have fixed. Nearly 6 months ago.i called Dr Morea and he said we didnt talk about fixing this obvious misalignment of your left breast hello do we not go in to get a matched set he replaced both implants should they not be even? Dr morea doesnt think so he argued with me and then hung up on me,Ive had other procedures and I paid cash and Im treated this way its unprofessional and unethical. I would think a physician would care enough about his reputation to treat his patients concerns seriously and not try to nickle and dime them for a problem that should have been corrected without charge if youre considering a breast implant here call me for my AFTER pix as I bet you wont see it there Dr Lambeth, Dr Law and Dr Stoekel stand behind their eork as well they should its not a small investment and your doctor should make you feel better about yourself not take you for granted and hang up on you my name is Cathryne Lannin.  I am a nurse and my ex husband ,my sister and her husband are ALL drs this is a heinous way to treat a patient. My wedding dress could not be fitted so misaligned were...are my breasts call me Ill send a TRUE after pix that i bet he wont show anyone. Shame on you you ruined my wedding left me with misaligned breasts tried to recharge me to fix them,then hung up on me when I dared challenge your recharge to fix my breasts. Thank you soooo much for sharing! I'm so sorry you had this experience. Aftercare is just as important as the procedure being formed. I agree this is an expensive purchase and you would expect reasonable results! Shame on Dr. Morea!!! I had called for a consult and cancelled Thank GOD!!!! You are so welcome I fam in them medical field and my sister her husband and my ex are all Drs, I am a nurse when you go in for a revision you should come out with a matching set and to be put off for 5 months promising it would be redone if it didn't settle into pocket then to go in for tummy tuck consult thinking ok I'll have breast that was improperly placed fixed at same time only to have DR MOREA try to gouge me for 5,000 dollars more when he was lucky I came back at all after he caused such a deformity that my wedding dress could not be fitted resulting in the loss of our dream wedding NOT OKAY to mess up someones wedding then treat them as if they were a pariah when they called the DR out on it and hung up on LADIES CALL DR LAMBETH< DR< DAVIS or WAKE PLASTIC SURGERY Dr Stroebel if you want a dr that stands by their excellent work AND AGAIN IF SOMEONE WISHES TO SEE TRUE after pictures at one day 3 days 4 weeks 2 months 3 months and present call me at 919-9284377 or email ccatz1@hotmail.com I'm happy to show you the after picture DR Morea wont show you. Dr. Morea did my surgery in Feb 2015 and my results are wonderful. If your breast were not symmetrical prior to surgery then you should not expect to come out with perfectly symmetrical breast. My breast are slightly asymmetrical in height but they were slightly asymmetrical prior to. Nonetheless i absolutely love my breast augmentation. Dr. Morea and his staff were very patient with me as I changed my size multiple times 2 weeks prior to my surgery date. Even on the date of surgery i wasn't sure of the size and Dr. Morea took the time to show me more pics of different implant sizes and profiles. In the end I trusted him to make the decision for what size would best fit my body. I'm sorry that you had a poor experience but its not fair to bash someone. Any of the other drs that you listed in your review could have easily made you botched as well. Im also a nurse and I thought your rant was of poor taste and not very professional. You made a point to point out that you have several doctors in your family but why does that matter. Are they plastic surgeons?? Maybe you should have consulted their opinion prior to your surgery.
Well I'm glad you shared your post op experience all surgeons do great follow-up when the patient is happy with their result what makes an exceptional surgeon stand out is when they stand behind their work with their unhappy patients!!! It doesn't sound like ores has done this. Thanks again for sharing your experience that is what this site is for. :)

AJ 0422 I am sorry you found my comment in poor taste, but after having to cancel my dream wedding in Ireland because my breasts were so askew and waiting months for Dr Morea to correct it and make the breasts match, he wanted to charge for the procedure he never mentioned asymmetry until after my right side implant which had deflated not two years but 6 months prior to my surgery. I was a tad bit upset about the cancellation of my wedding and the fact that upon having his ethics and results questioned instead of calmly replying with respect he decided he should hang up on me instead and that behaviour I felt was TRULY in poor taste. My sister and her fiancé are both surgeons and my ex does Emergency Medicine.
TO Rc05372 I had a facelift with Dr Morea and it was done beautifully, however the breast were off from the beginning and have still not "settled" to be symmetrical as I was told for 5 months that they would by Dr Morea and to be asked to pay even more for breasts that were matching was quite the insult and to be hung up on when I questioned the fairness and ethics of this to be hung up on me made me decide that no matter what discount rate was offered and there was a $5K more to repair offer made which Dr. Morea said was a good deal mind you I was trusting of Dr Morea I was going to have Dr. Morea do an abdominoplasty as I assumed he'd be putting me under for repairing my mismatched implants anyway I'd do both at the same time because I was lead to believe he'd do the right thing but after being told I'd be charged for re-repair of my breast to make it match I was convinced that Dr Morea's not the Dr that I want to use for re-repair of my breast or any other surgery. The lack of respect was appalling. When you are a plastic surgeon you are paid cash very little if any dealings with insurance ,it's a large investment in terms of money and self esteem for a woman and I lost my dream wedding and my fiancé so chose wisely ladies, chose someone who will stand behind their results even when they don't turn out as planned. Dr Morea I was quite happy with my facelift results you saw my breasts before surgery I had deflation for 6 months not two years and I returned each time I was to return even having to call your office and tell your "receptionist" I need to come back in I've been on Ibuprofen for 4 weeks and its reaching the point where its dangerous for me to continue to take this NSAID (ie ; kidney failure) my breasts are still not correcting themselves completely as I was told they would or you would re-do the surgery. I'm surprised that a busy plastic surgeon such as yourself doesn't have the time or empathy to talk with a dissatisfied patient indeed you hung up on me, but you find the time to come online and attack me a woman who trusted you to be ethical and give me a matching set (breasts) in time for my dream wedding ,that sir is what is truly in poor taste.
I do not usually comment on reviews, but I feel it is warranted in regards to this review. First let me say I will be happy to post your before and after pictures and let the Realself community judge your results. With your permission I will also be happy to post all your surgery quotes to show what you actually asked me to correct. You had a right implant deflation for over 2 years, with a right Capsular contracture. You asked for replacement of the deflated implant, and exchange of the left implant. I discussed with you that a right open capsulectomy would be required, and that your right breast would behave like a primary BA and take at least 4-5 months to settle and the swelling to resolve. I discussed that not knowing your previous volume on the right, not having performed any of your previous surgeries, not knowing your own natural breast asymmetries, that 100% symmetry could not be possible. At your 1 month post op visit this was once again discussed with you and you went, as you stated at your last visit " Bridezilla" on me. Despite my best efforts to reassure you that your progress was normal, you stormed out of my office. Despite multiple attempts to contact you by myself and my office staff you would not return our calls. Then you return at 3 months very happy with ALL your surgical results. Now at 5 months post op you return for possible additional procedures, tell me you are now happy with your right breast ( which you originally were unhappy with) and want me to lift your left breast. I explained this was a new procedure, one we NEVER discussed before, and had no idea you were unhappy with. Despite the above I offered to elevate the left breast for the cost of my supplies at about 2 thousand dollars, as I would be using an acellular dermal matrix to reinforce the capsullaraphy required, and they are expensive. Once again with your permission I will be happy to post on my site your before and after pictures, the quotes you received, with the true numbers, and allow the Realself community to judge your results and if your review is warranted! DR DOOLITTLE ......I'll SHOW THEM HOW DEFORMED YOU MADE ME HOW I HAD TO CANCEL MY WEDDING DRESS FITTING THAT WAS 3 months out from surgery because I was still so messed up my dress couldn't be fitted and lets let the world know my entire family are DRs and I am a nurse and this is how you treat patients with medical connections how sir do you treat those who are lay people, then lets have them call me for true after pix at 919928-4377 sir you promised me the breasts would settle to same position after 5 months this has proven to not be the case then I call you about the fact that you want to charge me for a mismatched set !!! Doesn't revision and replacement of breasts mean you get a matching pair or does this cost $5K more ?Then there is the matter of you insistence that my breast would correct itself yet here I am 5 months later without a matching pair and your rudeness hanging up on me is something no patient should have to experience we do not pay you a fortune in cash to treat us as if we don't matter ladies call me if you wish a picture and then call Dr Struebel or Dr Lambeth or DR. Law these are all great plastic surgoons who are board certified have a great reputation and stand behind their work because they don't want any woman missing her wedding or walking around more ashamed of her breasts post surgery than before. I want nothing to do with your practice as you are arrogant and have a horrible bedside manner with anyone who has a poor outcome and dares question the great DR NO SIR YOUR PATIENTS MAY CONTACT ME FOR PIX AT VARIOS STAGES TO SEE IF THATS THE LOOK THEY WANT AFTER PAYING FOR A MATCHING SET! Based on the grammar, spelling (ever heard of spell check?), punctuation and overall coherent thought; it terrifies me that you might actually be a nurse. Assuming you are not completely crazy, please share your before and after photos with the Real Self community and let us decide. That's the format of this site...to show and tell. You're telling quite a bit but I don't see much showing. I have had nothing but the most candid advise and attentive medical care with my two surgeries with Dr. Morea.
Yes I am a nurse and I have spell check but only in my word format :) I was simply busy and did not proof read my complaint and I was a bit upset since your lovely Dr. Morea had just hung up on me when I questioned the fairness and ethics of charging me again to make my breasts a matching set, send me your email and I'll happily share my pictures with you. I'm glad you had a good experience with Dr. Morea he did a facelift for me and it was great however the breasts were not. What is your occupation fitness mom and do you work with Dr Morea? I do have to say that after reading your comments it makes me wonder what kind of crazy person you are. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD CANCELLED THEIR WEEDING OVER BREAST IMPLANTS???????? no one who is in love. Getting married should go beyond anything. At the same time I feel very happy for the groom since he doesn't have to marry you now that you have shown your true colors.

Well, I am very sorry you are having such a painful experience, ccatz1. However, it is very hard for me to believe that behind your behavior on this site and such an unintelligent grammar is a real true nurse. It really would not hurt for you to post pictures for everybody in this community to see and judge for themselves. This is the rules of this site if one has complaints about the procedure. I have had a procedure done by Dr. Morea on April 29 of this year. I myself am an RN working in acute care hospital setting. I have seen many different surgeons and doctors. And yes, many surgeons tend to be not the most easy people to deal with. However, this is not the case with Dr. Morea (although I feel that taking into account all his years of experience and his skills, he very well could be entitled to have his quirks). He might give off an impression of being arrogant, but in reality he really isn't. If anything, I have found him being very professional, with an interesting sense of humor at the same time. He is easy to talk with, and he takes time to answer all questions. The same goes for all his staff working in his office: very pleasant and easy to communicate. Every experienced doctor, be it a surgeon or a physician, cares for good outcomes for his clients. Otherwise they would not be in this profession for this long. Nevertheless, it is up to the patient/client to undergo these elective procedures with very realistic expectations and a humble attitude.
If you are not willing to post your pictures for the Realself community to see them, then stop complaining about it. Who would want to share their personal information with you? NO ONE!! apparently you don’t understand that whatever asymmetries where there before surgery will be there after surgery. And all those plastic surgeons that you mentioned that would stand behind their work is a bunch of LIES. I have been to them for consults and they said that there will be a small charge to take care of the anesthesia and supplies (who knows what that charge might me) Dr. Morea is a wonderful surgeon and he’s a perfectionist. I was very happy with my breast augmentation and went back for a tummy tuck 1 year later.
IM HAPPY THAT YOU HAD A GOOD OUTCOME MY FACELIFT WITH DR. MOREA WAS ALSO A GREAT OUTCOME, WHY WOULD I SHARE PICTURES OF MY BREASTS WHEN YOU SAY NO ONE WOULD SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH ME?
