Highly recommend. Save yourself time. I have done the research. This office is the top notch option. I always thought of myself as an unlikely plastic surgery candidate. At 400 pounds and of average earnings I believed plastic surgery was for the wealthy and the beautiful who simply needed minor improvements. However, after losing 240 pounds via diet and exercise, I found myself looking quite deformed and aged. I went from looking 30ish to looking like a very old woman from head to toe. This disturbed me so much that I decided to investigate plastic surgery as a way to remove the massive amount of excess skin on my neck, face, arms, and body. I immediately researched surgeons recommended by the bariatric clinics, and fully expected to have to travel to a major metropolitan area and possibly out of state for the best surgeon. I also checked the websites of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Board of Medical Specialties. Many surgeons were booked several months out and I had to wait for the consult. After having in person consultations with 5 surgeons my husband and I still didn’t feel there was a perfect candidate for the job. And it turned out I would need not 2 but 5 surgeries. Some appeared to not listen to me and what I wanted, seemed judgmental or worse, indifferent to our concerns. Still others had no payment plan options, or had office staff that was rude and unhelpful when I contacted them later to ask questions after leaving the consultation. Regardless, I needed help to look normal again so I decided to settle on a surgeon who seems to be the best of the pickings despite my feeling uncomfortable with his office staff. Feeling dejected and overwhelmed, and not wanting to settle, I did a last Google search and came across Dr. Todd Stoeckel of Wake Plastic Surgery in Cary, NC. His website was quite informative and when I checked I noted he was on the listing for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as the American Board of Medical Specialties. When I made the call to possibly set up a consultation, the person answering sounded very pleased that I had called and very pleasant. So although he was not in a major city (where I had mistakenly assumed all the best surgeons would be) I made the appointment for the consultation anyway. I noted I was able to make an appointment date for very soon and at a time that was good for me. Later that evening, Dr. Stoeckel himself called, this immediately impressed my husband. My husband also felt relieved that the office was local.


In July I visited some old friends. Although I was only a month out from the surgery no one noticed I had “work done”. Everyone thought I just looked very toned. I couldn’t believe how easy the process had been from start to finish at Wake Plastic Surgery. In my travels, now that as a result of the surgery I feel more confident and go out more I meet people that are considering having something done, surgery wise. They are always surprised I have had surgery because they think I don’t look overdone or obvious. I feel very confident recommending Wake Plastic Surgery. If they can take someone with drastic deformity and make them whole, then they can just as easily take someone who needs far less work and make them even more beautiful or handsome as the case may be. In an ideal world no one would need plastic surgery, but if you find you do need it my husband and I recommend you visit Dr. Todd Stoeckel and his staff at Wake Plastic Surgery. You will not find a more complete package that meets all of you and your family’s needs.
