WORTH IT
I had my final post surgery consultation with Dr Sabrina yesterday and came out of the clinic thinking I didn't actually thank her for the fine job she did on my surgery. I do want to thank her.
I first came to see her over a year ago with multiple issues including excess skin around my eyes and a ptosis, all of this was effecting my sight and it looked terrible. Dr Sabrina is straight-talking and told me what she could and could not achieve surgically. This honesty builds trust and I appreciated someone giving me the full picture. She told me that because I had a ptosis I did not need to have surgery with her, I could have had it on the NHS so this was an option open to me . She also advised me to try non- surgical treatments first, so I have had a number of laser sessions sessions (performed by another doctor) which did tighten the skin around my eyes but was not sufficiently. I did get an improvement with laser treatments ( a lot of the wrinkles around my eyes were reduced by the laser ) however ,there was still considerable loose skin around my eyes. So I made a decision to go for the surgical option with Sabrina
I had the surgery in July with a local anaesthetic. I was awake for the procedure but could feel stuff going on however it was not painful. Afterwards you are bruised for about two weeks and the skin around the scar is tight is still tight after three months. There was a slight issue with keloid scarring on the inner eye but this has almost gone now. The good thing about Dr Sabrina is that she gives you the assurance that she will sort out any post surgery snags if they do occur. This is important and would advise anyone thinking of surgery to ensure the the surgeon is the kind of person who carries on seeing you until the job is done.
I don't regret anything and wish I had had this done years ago. Firstly my sight has massively improved and also my eyes look markedly better. I wish Dr Sabrina all the best and think she deserves her position as one of London's top oculoplastic surgeons.
