PRP Hair Loss Injections Complete Waste of Money

PrP Hair Loss Injections Complete WASTE of MONEY

55-year-old female, with hair thinning on the crown of the head. It was recommended I could do a high dose treatment 1 time. I was advised that it looked as if I would be a good candidate. Dr. Danyo was a very nice doctor. He spent time explaining my hair thinning but felt the plasma PRP shots could help. In actuality, they seem to have stopped all growth in the hair area. I was sprouting hairs before I had the shots in my head.
I went to another hair restoration for consultation before Dr. Danyo and I am disappointed that I did not go with their program where I could have gotten 3 shots and hair light treatment for the price I paid for this doctor.
As you can see from the pictures, I got no additional coverage of my top head thinning. I was hoping the surface hairs that had been growing would have gotten thicker or stronger but instead, they disappeared altogether by the 6 months.

Disappointed in PRP Injection Treatment for Hair LOSS. MONEY WASTED

My PRP hair loss injection was a true rip off. This office charged me for one injection which most office charge for 4. I had absolutely no change or improvement. The shots actually stopped the little hairs I came into the office with that were starting to grow. I believe the photos were fake of PRP recipients or they chose to rip me off by not doing more than one shot in a 6 month period.
After the procedure these people left me in the room..and never came back to clean me up or check on me. I ignored because I had put my faith that the doctor's work would be good and show some results. However, it turned out to be a complete WASTE of money. I did not realize I was only getting one shot.. when most offices give you at least 3 to 6 treatments of PrP. I was steered away from getting the A-cell but have a friend who had great results with that..so maybe this is what was needed. Overall very disappointed in office but gave two stars because the doctor was a nice man and most of his staff. The person who never came in office to clean up blood from shots I give a O. I had to get up and walk out to find someone to help me.

Sometimes after surgery you can have a cycle like childbirth where your hair falls out but in your case your hair will probably grow back after your body heals from brow lift surgery. If you should ever decide to do PRP I would recommend you NOT go to this doctor but find one that will give you 3 treatments. I can not believe I was talked into paying what I paid for 1 treatment and it totally stopped my hair growth completely. I got NOT nan NEW hair strand for the money I paid. It is so disappointing and no follow up.

That's really frustrating. I've read everywhere that you need 3-4 treatments to have a chance. I've done one of the 4 so far. Nothing from one except more shedding. If I were in your shoes I'd be upset too. I paid $1450 for my 4. Got a "discount" for prepaid otherwise it would be $3200. But everyone gets 4 anyway. They said they do the prices that way so there's a better chance at follow through and results. I hope you're able to find someone to help.

Alissa765: (1) Has your hair improved / grown back? (2) Have you had any of the follow-up treatments - and if so, how many and how far apart were they from each other?

When you do PRP you buy a lottery ticket, for some it helps, for some it makes no difference and for others it makes it worse. I had two procedures, 2 months apart, the second one over 2 months ago and my hair got significantly worse. I was supposed to have 3 but cancelled it after seeing the results. I just hope it grows back as so far it looks far worse than beforehand

Why can’t you name what office. It’s a complete waste if you don’t it doesn’t help anyone.

See my comment above... this is the doc I currently go to, if you are looking for a doc.

Oh ok thank you! I hear the prp needs to be done with another thing. I’m looking at that because there’s a lot more success that way. Also dr’s are greedy period. So finding one that’s good can only come by referral. Thanks so much again for sharing your story! I’m sorry you weren’t successful tho & hope you find a good one. I’m also having luck with the prescription spironolactone. Maybe talk to your doctor to see if your a good candidate.

I think my message got confused with the Original Poster... I shared the Dr. Rappaport in New Jersey info below. I'm still on my journey - got 3 of 4 treatments and will be getting a 4th. For $600 a treatment, it's a steal compared to other doctors, especially with him being an actual expert in the field (so I don't feel like I'm getting low-quality treatment at all). I feel comfortable trying it at that price point, and getting all 4 treatments so my hair has a fighting chance lol.
