MY DOCTOR IS AMAZING!!!!!
My review is long but worth reading. I tried to cover all points.
Life before, then my midsection went to hell...
I'm a wife, mother of 3, former fashion model ( international swimsuit /runway/spokesmodel) nurse and cancer survivor. I had an amazing 16 years between my first and second child and a couple of pregnancies that didn't go to term. Every pregnancy changes your body and I've breastfed with every one. I've watched my naturally huge and well hung breast undergo many changes but recently the loss of volume, easy collapsibility and stretch marks made me miserable, combine that with my abdomen stretching and muscles torn apart because of a hernia with severe diastasis now that was more than I could bare (a man could stick his entire hand into my tummy and feel around), gross I know and I was in pain.
After over a year of doctors visits and letdowns, my situation was becoming more emergent, i was in more pain and all of my tactics to disguise "my over a year long Pregnancy" - not working! I came home from yet another failed visit with a noted doctor in NYC, who after examining me and taking my money kindly let me know he would not do my surgery, (cause I have keloids) I left shocked, appalled but most of all pissed off. I finally wrote a letter to the last doctor on my list, my "last hope". Truthfully I was so discouraged I think my letter was borderline rude. He was not even in the same State, he was 400 miles and how many hours away. So imagine my shock when I woke up the next morning to find a response timed about an hour after I sent it ( it was way after midnight???). He sounded pleasant and confident he could help. I was guarded and afraid, I wouldn't even allow myself to be hopeful. I spoke to him later that day and he texted me all of the information where I could find out more about him
Let's do some Math
I'm not a fan of going under the knife for any reason, so to say I was reluctant is an understatement . I already had KELOID SCARS FROM PREVIOUS SURGERIES AND NO DOCTOR / PS WOULD TOUCH ME. Which was why I found it funny these same doctors, were willing to take my money, prescribe various other surgeries that they could do - "after I go address the hernia" (1-3 abdominal scars / 1 separate surgery / OR, ANESTHESIA, HOSPITAL STAY $$) then they would gladly turn me into what I lovingly called 'FrankenBarbie' under my clothes.* Real talk: " I'm a wife, my greatest desire at this stage in my life is to LOOK GOOD NAKED" so if I was gonna go under the knife, I had to at least hope that restoration was a possibility. To this point all I'd met were vultures. They wanted me to settle for the 'likely possibility' of MASSIVE SCARRING so why not have a breast lift and augmentation (6 scars around my breast), Tummy-tuck ( abdominoplasty only done by PS only way to repair the muscles of your abdomen, address the extra skin issue (panniculectomy) with the hope of restoring your shape - 1-2 huge scars completely from hip to hip), some fillers etc. $$$$$ Really ???
I have problems with anesthesia, all that was more surgeries than I'm interested in.
I needed a doctor willing to try to get me back to normal with the LEAST AMOUNT OF POSSIBLE SCARRING. For me that miracle worker was Dr. Richard Zienowicz, he willingly takes on the cases other PS refuse (afraid, too much to tackle) and the process was the TABA. He didn't try to sell me on extra surgeries, he listens to you and shows concern for your welfare. More on that in a minute.
Staff professionalism & courtesy / Phone or email responsiveness
Dr. Zienowicz personally gets back to me as soon as he was available.
Dr. Zienowicz and his team, office / hospital, are truly some of the finest health care professionals I've ever encountered. They were exceptional, caring, courteous and helpful. 5 star rating all the way.
I think the fact that he's highly intelligent and loves what he does, is what makes him a master sculpture. The TABA is his favorite surgery to perform and HE'S AN EXPERT. Depending on your needs the TABA can be many things. A basic definition is TA : Trans Abdominal ( 1 surgical incision through lower abdomen / creating greater access) BA: Breast Augmentation (any manipulation of breast, lift, implants, fat grafting, reconstruction) - through this 1 incision, he's able to fix any issues with your breast, repair your abdominal muscles as in my case also repair the hernia, remove excess skin, he's even recreated my navel (my old belly was destroyed by the size of my hernia). The TABA is the only real Mommy Makeover. If you're looking for a doctor who is Board Certified, Competent, Truly an Expert in breast and body contouring surgery, then Dr. Zienowicz is your man and I am living proof of just how great his work can look. He welcomes challenge, loves to bring change, he wasn't afraid and was willing to address my KELOIDS AND EVEN DEVELOPED A PLAN FOR IMPROVEMENT.
I'm so happy that Dr. Zienowicz is a man of his word. He was instrumental in restoring my self confidence / image. I've already referred him to family / friends who are considering self-improvement as in the 'Mommy makeover' or issues like mine that requires some reconstruction (severe diastasis w/ hernia repair or after cancer surgery ie. Breast).
He's up to date with all of the newest and best technology / techniques and is committed to utilizing what best suits you and gets the most natural results. Just ask my husband or anyone who knows me but hasn't seen me in a while, if I don't tell you I've had surgery, You would never know. Now, that's surgery done right!
I haven't worn a bikini in probably 3 years but when I'm fully healed I think I will be able to again, Dr. Zienowicz did that for me and if ever he needed a model for a billboard...
I hope he will consider ME first! It would truly be my pleasure.
Recovery period
I won't lie to you abdominal surgery ('Tummy tuck' / Abdominoplasty, Hernia repair, TABA) is no joke, it's very uncomfortable but it gets better. Days 1-4 were the worst, Thank GOD for medication, then I started to get sick ( no longer needed narcotics or pain pump ), I took Tylenol once after that during 1st. week. Walk as soon as you're able, then keep walking - it helps. Weeks 1-3 are most uncomfortable, weeks 4-6 you'll be used to your restrictions and better able to navigate through life. If you have family/ friends that can help, let them ( I wasn't quite that lucky, my hubby had to work and I'm still a mom).
Fast track, I'm now 11 weeks PostOp , I'm still healing and guess what? My abdominal incision so far looks great. I wanted to wait before I sent out my review just incase something went wrong even though we have a plan for that. I hope this helps somebody.
