I am SOO happy I came across Dr. Mike Roskies and his team!
For reference: I’m a 28-year-old female who previously had skin cancer on the nose and am restoring the appearance with Dr. Roskies.
A quick back story before I met Dr. Roskies: October 2023, the Toronto Dermatology Clinic biopsied and confirmed I had skin cancer on the very tip of my nose. November 2023, I had Mohs surgery at Women’s College in Downtown Toronto by Dr. Chan, who did a great job removing the skin cancer and reconstructing my nose using a flap technique. However, this surgery, unavoidably resulted in skin indentations, dark scars, and asymmetry. I spent months reaching out to a few dozen med spas, dermatologists, and plastic surgeons across Toronto and the GTA, trying to find someone who could help me restore my nose to its pre-cancer state. I felt hopeless because no one could confidently provide a solution or helpful suggestions.
Fast forward to February 2024, I came across Dr. Roskies. After exploring his Instagram profile and being impressed with his focus on natural results, I spent hours reviewing him across his platforms and going though before-and-after photos, videos, reviews, and credentials. I was extremely pleased with what I saw, so I submitted a registration on his website with my back story. The following week, I got a call from April.
I cannot say enough amazing things about April. During our initial call, she spent time learning more about my situation, informing me of my options, and providing information about Dr. Roskies and his impressive credentials. April was kind, patient, and informative, making me feel very comfortable. Our call went great, so we scheduled an in-person consultation with Dr. Roskies for the following week.
On February 15th, 2024, I had an amazing consultation with Dr. Roskies, with April present. They spent over an hour with me, touching on many aspects of my situation without making me feel rushed. Dr. Roskies allowed me to explain my concerns in-depth and provided options for moving forward. He was very knowledgeable, reassuring, and showed a lot of empathy during our discussion. He’s a jokester with a great sense of humour and really cares for everyone walking through his office doors. I felt confident he was the right medical professional to assist me in restoring the appearance of my nose. Once we decided to proceed, Dr. Roskies offered to cover the cost of my treatments through his new foundation, Re:Mission. This foundation enables him to do a cosmetic procedure to help cancer survivors look and feel like themselves again. I want to make it clear that I would have chosen Dr. Roskies even without this offer, as I was thoroughly impressed with his work, credentials, and the positive energy from him and his staff.
My treatment plan includes several procedures, the first being profractional lasering. Last week, I completed my fourth session. Nurse May, who performs the lasering, has been absolutely wonderful throughout this journey. She is always so bubbly and kind, pays close attention to detail, and is very considerate, ensuring I’m always comfortable. She follows up after procedures to check on my progress and make sure everything is going smoothly.
Regarding my results so far, I see improvement in the appearance of my nose. My scar lines are softening and lightening, boosting my confidence and helping me feel more like myself. I feel very well taken care of and I’m relieved knowing I am in good hands.
Dr. Roskies and his team have been a breath of fresh air. I am truly looking forward to continuing this journey with them and sharing more about my experience as we continue my procedures. When I am ready, I’ll share my before and after photos.
The compassionate care and expertise I’ve received have made a significant difference in my life, and I am grateful for the support. I highly recommend Dr. Roskies and his staff. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
