Frustrating Bait and Switch

II tried to get a consult for Profound HQ, a procedure with some impressive photos posted by Ridenour. Staff refused to give me the consult, scheduling me instead with a nurse who promptly told me that I’d need to come back and see Ridenour. So I called and texted repeatedly and after an endless amount of pestering, they scheduled me to see Ridenour himself (which had been my initial goal, and what I tried to do from the beginning). Then I made yet another trek down to his office and met with him where he recommended an experimental procedure instead of Profound HQ that he thought would better treat my concerns. He is obviously smart and experienced and so I responded positively and asked for an estimate and an idea of when I could get scheduled. They said they’d get back to me. Thereafter, we went through the entire charade again, where I pestered and called and texted over and over again and finally someone got back to me and said that he wanted to see me again before I could get even a ballpark estimate or an idea of scheduling. For the love of all that is holy. He had me really convinced, though, and so I agreed to go down there yet again even though I have almost a handful of young children and my spouse works 60 hours a week and I work full time. On my third visit, I left feeling confident that I was going to get an estimate and an idea of scheduling so that at the very least, after after six weeks of waiting, I could perhaps try to make a decision about this experimental procedure. So once again, I started nagging and pestering and after FOUR requests, they finally got back to me with a proposed date and a price tag that is about 300% higher than the Profound HQ - for an experimental procedure, to which he could guarantee no results. I’ve had enough work done to know that anything experimental with a 10K price tag screams bad idea and whispers exploitation. Maybe it was totally innocent, but it definitely felt like a bait and switch on who likely appeared to be a person of means who was anxious to get something scheduled.

I’m sure I’m not their only patient, but getting them to schedule me was like a proverbial teeth pulling. I have enough children, I *really* do not want to have to nag any more people in my life. Maybe he works really well for other people who have time to spare but I’m a busy girl and I feel angry that I lost not only my time, energy and effort, but also the six weeks during which I could’ve been exploring other options.
