Prophilo Treatment!
Did Prophilo treatment 2 months ago.
It made my skin smooth and glowing with a lighter complexion. However, it also added unwanted volume to my jawline and made my barely noticeable pre Jowls much worse and swollen which are still present.
Although the benefits are visible , there are also unwanted side effects. Not sure I will do it again.

There must be some kind of explanation.
Thank you for your detailed explanation it all makes perfect sense! What does not makes sense to me is that everywhere I read it is clearly stated that Prophilo is NOT a filler and will NOT add any volume nor change your face futures. The patients are not warned about these potential side effects. So it comes as a total surprise, when you go for a deep skin hydration treatment and you end up with extra volume in your jaw line and bigger jowls .
Regarding Hyaluronidase : Although doctors offering this as an option to dissolve any unwanted fillers ,I read lots of Negative comments from patients so as I understand this enzyme is not exactly “ innocent”. Which makes it a tough decision for us as patients .
Therefore it will not give the same "volume" effect as typical fillers. Profhilo is not viscous, and will does not have the same longevity. I suppose why the company states it is not a filler, but considered a new class of "bio-remodelling" agent.
Profhilo is very spreadable, so after injection, the molecules will flow locally (likely to areas of least resistance). The concentration, size and configuration of these molecules are able to trigger a low grade inflammatory response in the skin, therefore can stimulate collagen and tissue repair response, hence the Profhilo's claim of "tissue bio-remodelling".
Profhilo molecules have much less longevity than normal fillers, however, as it is cause low grade stimulatory response, some patients can see improvements some time after the treatment, although the tissues may need to be stimulated a few times. But all hyaluronic acid molecules attract water, so I can understand why it is possible to have local swelling as side effects, but hopefully after some time, it will settle for you.
As for your comment about hyaluronidase not exactly "innocent", I think it depends how it is being used - obviously if your doctor only use a small amount, Ultrasound guided, I cannot see how hyaluronidase will cause a lot of harm. On the contrary, during the treatment of vascular occlusions due to dermal fillers, I have heard of injections using half a dozen vials of hyaluronidase to "flood" the area. The "harm" from hyaluronidase can be due to many factors such as the amount, area, techniques etc. Until we have scientific proof that hyaluronidase is harmful, I will still use it judiciously if indicated.
Are there other collagen stimulators? Yes, of course - PLLA, Calcium hydroxyapatite are collagen stimulators. When I consider the price of PLLA, CaHA and Profhilo (Australian prices), Profhilo is not bad value for money. It's only a personal opinion, that's all. If my patients are happy with their existing laser program, or Ulthera, or CaHA, there's no need for them to change to Profhilo.
In case you decide to dissolve, please let me know how it went.
Thanks!!
