11 days post op

I had my procedure last Friday. I was scheduled for 730 am, so I arrived at 630 as asked over the phone. I went to the outpatient surgical center at old bridge. The place itself wasn't very welcoming as soon as I entered. It is in need of an update. Once I got to the office it was a whole different story. It was updated, clean, and nicely decorated. The front desk assistant was a bit rude she must not be a morning person! On the other hand, the nurses were very nice, caring, and sweet. I had three nurses, and they all were very attentive, personable, and with many years of experience. The anesthesiologist called me the day before, and reinstated everything we spoke. At the end, he said "everything you read, and you were told about the complications, you can just forget about it. Those things don't happen under my watch" exactly what I wanted to hear. I saw doctor Hamawy, he said hello, asked how was I doing, another question about billing. Next, he came and drew over my chest covered me up. I got taken to the OR, the anesthesiologist hooked me up with general anesthesia and pain meds. When I woke up, I was asked to sit up. I was in a lot of pain. At the point I would say it was a 10, so I was given some more morphine. I vomited twice while in the center, once in the car on my way home, and one more time at home. I felt dizzy all day, but the pain was a 6 by the time I finished vomiting. The next two days was much better. I had discomfort, pressure, and tightness, rather than pain. I took motrin and tylenol to control my pain, I was told not to use anything on the breast until I got seen by the doctor. I was able to shower, dress, apply make up, and take care of my older child the very next day of the surgery. I saw my PS a week from my procedure, he seemed to be please with the results. My concern was, one breast was more swollen than the other. Dr. Hamawy explained how they both heal at their own time, he reassured me it was fine. They will look more natural as time goes and as they settle I'm place. I stopped the pain medication after three days. Finished the antibiotics as prescribed. At this point I have no pain at all, a little of discomfort when I wake up. I stated massage, instructed by my PS three times a day for a month. I was given the ok for lower body workout, but the pressure increased as I was exercising, so I will wait a few more days and try again. I have no duet restrictions prior or post procedure. Needless to say, I love my breasts! My mom loves them. She will have BA too, of course with doctor Hamawy. I'm very pleased with my results so far.

Pre-op

I had my pre-op appt last Friday. First I paid off my remaining balance of 3900, they deducted my 100 dollars consultation fee. Then, I was given paperwork to acknowledge all medical complications related to and after the procedure. It is all pretty much standard to any other surgery risk, plus fees and steps to take in case of leak, rupture, or capsular contraction. It also reminds you of keeping up with your post procedures appointments, and the importance of following directions for after care.
Dr. Hamawy tried to put me on easy, he is very confident of his skills, and reassure me everything will be fine. He has all my trust, I do believe when he says it will be fine, as I also believe I will like his work. However, I can't stop thinking about my size. I changed from high profile to moderate plus. I like the look of saline on mod+ profile. He also told me he will use his judgment during surgery, so it looks in proportion with my body. I didn't try any sizers, we just talked. I also mention the fact of me disliking my stretch marks. He took his time, and look at it. He said, in a scale of 1-10 he will say it's a 2, so I won't see much improvement with the laser. He recomend me to keep my money, and not wasted on something I won't be happy with the results. I expected nothing less from him, but a honest answer. I am still a happy patient, Dr. Hamawy and his staff are so nice.
Here are some pics, I can not wait for Friday to come:)

Provider Review

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
106 Stanhope St., Princeton, New Jersey

What you read, is what you get. Dr. Hamawy is very upfront. During his consult he will explain the cons throughly, considering the pros are obvious. Will review your pictures and go over them with you. Answers your questions in a calm, professional, straight forward manner. There is a 100 dollar fee for consult, which to me, was well worth it. I went with my sister, who at all times was involved during the consultation by Dr. Hamawy and his staff.
