6 week check up

So today I saw Mr Richards and Sinead and Aggie for the final time. The big knickers are no longer needed!! Hooray! I have also had the tape removed for good, with instructions and cream that I need to massage in every day, along the scar and around the belly button. This will not only reduce the redness of the scar but also breakdown and soften any scar tissue. I am very happy with the results. Yes, its a bit wonky, but I had 4 previous scars that required removing and a lot to pull into place. I feel fantastic now. My body may not be perfect, but I can confidently go and buy a pair of jeans without 'tucking' the belly in! I am also happy to say my dissertation was written during this recovery and completed, so my degree is nearly over and I am looking forward to 'graduating' in a fitted dress!

Mr Richards was very empathetic to my situation. His calm approach put me at ease and for the first time I felt understood for the personal misery this extra skin was causing. His nurse Sinead was more than welcoming, answering any questions I had before and after surgery. Would definately recommend this clinic for any procedure.

Great job:) I too, went along the massage route as per my PS' instructions. It 'appears' that the UK surgeons favour massage as opposed to scar treatments. Don't be too alarmed when your scar turns a lovely deep shade of red, it does lighten (eventually ;) ) xx

I was able to change the tape twice a week myself now, so took these pictures after a shower to check the scar! There is some slight bumpiness at the side but I have been told that will soften as the healing continues..
