Hi everyone! I'm scheduled to have a rhinoplasty by Dr. Grigoryants in December. I'm extremely nervous. Attached are some pictures of my nose now, and wish pics. My nose isn't bad at all, but I just want it to look smaller and more defined. If anyone has any tips or tricks, or any advice, or even details of their own experience with Dr. Grigoryants please reach out to me. Thank you!

Pre-Op

Lovexo25
Just had my pre-op with Dr. Grigoryants! He is such a kind and patient person. I really enjoyed meeting him in person. He listened to me and explained everything he was planning on doing. He definitely put my fears at ease. Surgery is officially on the 16th of December!

I just have to say, please reconsider. Give it another year, nose jobs will often widen the nose once the arch is removed and if you want it narrowed the doctor has to break the bridge of the nose leaving visible scars on the sides of the nose. Look carefully at after photos and YouTube videos of nose jobs, the tip often ends up healing crooked. A nose job will also change the shape of your eyes because all the skin that used to be supported by the arch now has no support and starts dropping downward.

You are absolutely stunning and your natural nose looks almost identical to Kim kardashians nose (she actually has a bump that she thinks makes her look ethnic) please don’t do it!

Look into “5 minute nose jobs” they use Botox to narrow the space between the eyes, no anesthesia, much cheaper and better results

better i suppose.. I saw an ENT and he confirmed everything looked good and even complimented how my nose looked great. I guess i'm a really slow healer.

Day of treatment

The Big Day!

Lovexo25
Today was the big day! I arrived to the surgery center by 7 AM and was taken back around 8:10 AM. They took my vitals, made me change into a gown, and started the IV. Shortly after Dr. Grigoryants stopped by, we discussed once again what he was going to do to my nose and what I wanted and he left. Dr. Grigoryants is very patient and understanding. Then came the anesthesiologist, I can’t remember his name but he was also such a sweetheart and very kind. I’m a nurse practitioner myself, and bedside manner is so important. I’m lucky to have been blessed with an amazing surgical team. I went to the OR and all I can remember is them putting a mask on my face and then I knocked out.
The procedure took less than two hours total. I woke up about 30 minutes after surgery and just felt groggy. No pain. I stayed for another hour or so to make sure everything was fine an then the nurse helped me get dressed and I left.
On the way home I had about a 2 hour drive. About 20 minutes into the drive I started to feel a lot of pain and a really bad headache. I tried to do without the pain medicine, but eventually the pain got so bad I just took one and my pain went from a 10 to a 2, in a matter of 15 minutes.
I got home and went straight to bed. Elevating your head and icing is a must!! I was in and out of sleep every 30 minutes because it’s hard to breathe, the position isn’t ideal, and overall you’re just uncomfortable.
When I first got out of surgery and before all the real swelling kicked in my dad got a good look at my nose and said it was so cute and small. As of right now, my face is extremely swollen, especially under my eyes and in between my eyebrows. Lots of bruising also. I had to change the guaze on my fave at least 5-6 times.
My advice to you is lots and lots of ice. Take your pain meds and antibiotics (set an alarm), and take arnica for bruising and swelling. The first few days are obviously going to be the worst as far as pain and swelling goes, but cast removal is on day 5 and you should be feeling somewhat normal in about a week.
Will continue to post updates, as of now please keep me in your thoughts thank you!

So exciting! Hope you continue to heal well. Thanks for this review - my surgery is tomorrow and I'm feeling stressed because I've had a sore throat & post nasal for 3 days ): Keep me updated on your recovery & post pictures!
December 18, 2019
Good luck!! The first few days are the worst but just make sure you stay on top of your medication and icing. Try sleeping with your head elevated tonight to reduce the post nasal drip. Drink plenty of liquids and as much throat lozenges until midnight tonight!

Definitely! Thanks girl. Hope you 're back to feeling like yourself soon.

How are you feeling 3 days post-op?
December 20, 2019
Much better than my previous days. Still very uncomfortable but the pain has subsided a bunch. I'm just taking Tylenol now as needed. I think I'll feel much better when I can shower and have this cast removed from my face. My energy levels are also much better.

I'm more scared of going under anesthesia and through surgery since there can always be serious complications. Most people say that's the easy part though. How is it like sleeping? You weren't prescribed painkillers?
December 20, 2019
I was worried about that too especially because I work in healthcare and know firsthand the complications of anesthesia. But because we're all so young without any other major medical history, anesthesia is actually really safe for us. And everyone is right, that is the easy part. From the time the IV was inserted to when I was knocked out was a matter 5 minutes. I just remember being wheeled into the OR and then scooted over to the OR bed and I then knocked out. When I woke up I was already out of surgery and my dad was already right next to me. Sleeping is the worst. You're just so uncomfortable you can't really sleep. You have to sleep with your head up which is awkward and you're in pain, with ice all over and with all this tape and cast on your face it's hard to get a good rest. You wake up with your mouth so dry. But it gets better. Once you get the cast off you should feel much better. And yes, they give you pain killers but they can be addicting so I just decided to slowly wean myself off of them.

Does arnica and supplements like that help with swelling and bruising?
December 20, 2019
I think maybe taking them a week before surgery would have been better. I started taking arnica after my surgery but I think it was a little late. I swell and bruised pretty badly. But post op day 3 the swelling has come down a bunch and the bruising is slowly starting to heal. It'll probably take about 2 weeks for the bruising to completely go away.
