6 weeks post op :)

Wow I can't believe I've reached the 6 week mark, how fast is time going? Been to the gym a couple times but not doing any classes yet, spoke to my instructor and she advised another two weeks at least. She doesn't suggest any twisting or over arm exercises yet. I totally agree though as stomach muscle are not ready yet. Think listening to ur body is the only way to go, no point pushing it to get for and ruin all the hard work you've been through! Had my scar therapy today and put it on earlier, will let you know how it goes.

Finding lots of things easier now but still not able to lift anything heavy. Will get some pics up soon guys. Happy healing to all that's recovering and good luck to everyone who's due to have their TT's :)

5 weeks 5 days

Almost at the six weeks mark and so happy I done this. It's been a roller coaster of a recovery to say the least. Coming out of surgery and feeling like the stay puff marsh mallow man was surreal to say the least. Three days of extreme swelling was unexpected, well I knew my stomach would but not my face, fingers, legs, feet and toes! Wanting to go to the toilet the first day was fun too....Not! They kept giving me a bed pan, that wasn't happening. Eventually the let me go to the toilet, I was helped out of bed by two nurses and walked to the bathroom. But whilst there I felt faint and started throwing up, omg that really hurt like hell. Not a pain I would like to
Endure again!! Getting back in bed and having violent shakes and not being able to stop was not a nice experience either. I think my body went in to shock :( I think I passed out after the nurses were putting blankets on me and giving me meds as I woke up the next morning feeling better. Day two I was able to push myself up and go to the toilet myself :) I like to be as independent as possible. Day 4 my drains came out and was allowed out of the hospital :) so nice to be with my hubby :)

To be fair my hubby and kids have been fab but to be fair they don't clean like I would. Lol

So at six weeks I intend to be getting back to my former fit self. This will be done gradually though, don't want to undo all the good work. No core work yet though not for a few mor weeks, I know my body's not ready yet.

Still have more swelling on my left side compared the the right. Hoping it will go down now I'm gonna be more active. Still don't feel right without my CG so I think I'll be wearing to the gym while working out just in case. Scar is healing nicely but having a little puckering on my right side, hoping that will smooth out when I get my scar therapy under way.
Ok so it the Easter holiday now so planning the next two week of activities with my 2year old and 5 year old. :) Happy Easter to all you lovely ladies and happy healing :) x

Dr Vrtiskova was very professional from the offset. She made me and my husband comfortable and gave us her medical background. Before surgery she told me all the risks involved and what sort of outcome I was likely to have. She told me I would need to stay in hospital for 3-4 days and then need to come in every other day for the first 10 days to check my progress. She had no problem answering all my questions. As we were in Prague she gave my husband lots of tips in where to go and what to do while I was recovering. Her English was good too :) I would definitely recommend Dr Vrtiskova and her lovely staff. Their after care was excellent and couldn't do enough for me :)
