This has been by far one of the worst mistakes of my life.
This year I had an accident that left me a scar on my face, not a deep and long one, but it was bothering me and my self-esteem. I decided to contact different stetic clinics to see what options I had. One of them offered me a laser with almost none side effects apart from redness, and great super awesome results in one session. I didn´t do my research throughfully and trusted them as the doctor looked very confident with his statements.
We agreed to treat one specific area of my face, because according to them, only treating the scar would be visible in contrast with the rest of the skin (where there are acne scars and little pimples).
Two days after the laser, I had to come back to the clinic because of an infection, exactly in the areas where there was no redness after applying the laser.. strange... anyway I followed the after care and came back for the revision. The anwer was: 'the traeted area looks amazing' and about the redness of the infected areas 'it will disappear in a couple of months' .. So they wanted to continue with the rest of my face, but luckily I said NO until the redness disappers.
2 months later I continued with the redness, pain in the areas where I had the infection (according to the clinic... it is all in my head/brain and they hadn´t seen something like that before, then it turned out that the main problem was acne... incredible), scars with the shape of a circle where the infection was and no results at all. 6 months later the redness has faded a bit.. but the left scars are visible and in some areas looks like a layer of skin is missing and with a different color... sometimes I still feel pain and I can feel like the skin, to the touch is like dry and there are new small pimples and small scars.
I complained to them, and the answer was... more lies. Either way the offered my 2 laser sessions for free for the initial scar saying that it will completelly dissapear using their non-ablative laser... which is not possible even with CO2. Anyway, I decided not to continue with this big mistake and bet again with my face, even though this time is with another doctor.
All this situation caused my a lot of stress, depression, anxiety, and nights without sleep. Leason learned by the hard way: do your research first, never trust people who offer miracles, never bet with your face, don´t play with fire, be patience and try firt to use natural methods or non aggresive alternatives. I went to that clinic with one scar, now I have four.
Now I´m using different products like bi-oil, scar creams, etc. So far I´ve noticed some improvement with the redness.
