Day 9
$6,000
The swelling on my nose has gone down an awful lot, I'm loving the results though. I think when you first get the cast off it's a bit of a shock but it takes time to grow on you. I definitely prefer my new nose and am happy with the result, Very happy! I only really fully appreciated it after looking through some pre op photos...

Cast off!! (kind of)
So I had my third check up today and the doctor said I can remove the cast to wash my face, but it should be left on at all other times. It took some time to get used to, but I like the result now. Initially I thought it was too small. Also, for some weird reason I think it makes me look much younger. What do you guys think of it?

You're healing great! Looks awesome. I'm on my 4th day and starting to get itchy under the cast. But it's still sore, so I hope it doesn't hurt too much when he takes it off on Friday. But your nose looks natural and fits your face well.

Thank you :) Day 4 is still pretty tough but I found it get easier every day! When it does come off it's going to be pretty swollen so don't be shocked if it looks different than initially expected. I recommend getting a nasal spray for when it comes off, It really helps :)

It it not too small, I carefully looked through pre-op pictures and I definetly say that now the bridge has changed, the tip is swollen but not looking down anymore and the nostrls are even. So far so great!
In the picture you are not wearing a cast but a tape...is this what you have to wear or you have to put back the cast on?

Yeah, I've to wear the tape and also a cast which I'm supposed to wear till Monday - I'm just using it when I sleep though. I am happy with my results it definitely takes a few days to get used to it though.

How are you? I haven't heard from you anything? Are you ok? How is your nose? What did your parents say about the adventure?

I just wanna blow my nose damn it!
I currently sound like siri because my nose is so blocked up, I am terrified if I blow my nose though that it will explode or something, so I'm leaving it off for now. It's certainly not the nicest feeling I must say. They did give me these strange long pieces of stick with cotton buds on the end for cleaning my nose, they're handy at times but certainly don't manage to break through the wall of congealed blood and stuff that blocks up most of my nose. If one thing is for sure, recovering from a nose job is certainly not the most glamorous of affairs... Looking like you just got into a fight with a full biker gang, and literally having blood stained tissues EVERYWHERE (I do clean but I need so many!!!) and having to constantly regurgitate all the god knows what that's clogging your sinuses every 5 minutes is not nice oh... and not to mention the horrible breakout that is developing on my face due to the fact that I cannot wash my face even a little bit. On the plus side I'm feeling pretty positive and am confident it'll all be worth it in the end ;)! I'm really glad that I opted to undergo this surgery abroad though as I would not like anyone I know to see me in this state!

No don't blow your nose!! My surgeon told me at least 3/4 weeks and then only very gently! Once your cast is off at 7 days you can get a sinus wash. That is brilliant for clearing your nose and you can breathe again. The one recommended to me was neilmed sinus rinse. X

Cool, thanks for the advice! Is that something you buy yourself or something the surgeon does?

You get it yourself from the chemist or you can order online from somewhere like amazon x

Why don't you clean your face? You just need PATIENCE, cotton pads and Micellar cleanising water. Gently clean the face(except the nose area) with the cotton pads moisted in micellar water: morning and evening. The face needs to be cleaned daily. There are a lot of products on the market, I'm using the one from L'Oreal- sensitive skin and it's good for me...no mention the small price(around 8$).

Because this cast on my face is pretty much covering my whole face. I've cleaned the bits in between the bandage and stuff. Anything further and I'd have to tamper with the bandage.

Oh, I'm sorry...it will be easier when the cast is off, you'll have just a small tape onto your nose. When is going to be that day...in 2 days from now on?

Ohhhh...I get it. If your doctor decided so, that means that's the best way for you. Didn't he change the type of bandage, does is still covering your face like in your photo, posted on March 19? Couldn't he put a smaller bandage over the cast? Did you get used with the food? How is your sleep now?

Yeah, they're changing the cast today though, which is very good, at least I get a look. I'll take a pic and post it here if I can. It's still pretty much covering it except the thing under my nose. Yeah, food is ok now :D Sleeping well thanks :)

I'm 47 years old, and i had a nose job in February. My face broke out like a teenager again. I had to get on antibiotics to get it to clear up. I think the surgery stresses the body and caused it? I don't know, but in my case it wasn't the external washing that was the factor. My dr said some people break out in shingles or cold sores following surgery. Perhaps you might need something. You look handsome. Hang in there. My nose still feels weird, numb on the tip and drips. I carry q tips everywhere Try not to blow! Good luck.
