My Positive Experience Getting Incisional Double Eyelid Surgery at Marble
I recently had incisional double eyelid surgery with ptosis correction at Marble with Dr. Suh Yong Hoon and had a fantastic experience!
I’ve had uneven eyelids all my life (partial crease on my left eye and monolid on my right) and used eyelid tape daily. I spent a lot of time researching, reading reviews, and looking through before/after photos, and eventually decided on Marble, specifically Dr. Suh Yong Hoon. I was looking for a clinic that focused on natural results, not a "factory clinic" or one that used ghost doctors. Dr. Suh’s work really stood out to me because it looked so natural, and his reviews were very positive.
Online Consultation
I contacted Marble via WhatsApp in February about double eyelid surgery, and they responded quickly despite the 12-hour time difference. After I shared my budget and eye photos, they recommended incisional double eyelid surgery with ptosis correction and epicanthoplasty. They also provided a quote and mentioned I was eligible for a 10% tax refund. The consultant was completely fluent in English, which made communication easy.
I was very happy with my online consultation and paid a 10% deposit to pre-book my surgery for April. A few days before the surgery, my consultant reached out with my appointment time and pre-op instructions.
Surgery Day
On surgery day, I arrived at the clinic, filled out paperwork, and met my consultant, Hee-Kyung, who was just as sweet in-person as she was online. After discussing my desired crease shape, I changed into a gown, washed my face, and had my before photos taken. Dr. Suh then assessed my eyes, explaining that my right eye was more set back, which may affect symmetry but he would try his best to make them symmetrical. He also said that I had naturally strong epicanthic folds and advised against epicanthoplasty, which would have altered my eye proportions, and explained the small risks with incisional surgery. I appreciated his honesty as it shows that he wants the best results for his patients and omitting the epicanthoplasty made my surgery even cheaper.
This was my first time getting surgery, so I was nervous but trusted Dr. Suh and the nurses. I had local anesthesia and felt no pain, just some tugging. The surgery took about two hours, and Dr. Suh checked the crease shape by asking me to open and close my eyes a few times before finishing up. Hee-Kyung confirmed the surgery went well and was surprised I felt no pain during the ptosis correction, as most people felt some pain during that process. Afterward, I rested with an ice pack on my eyes for 15 mins, changed, and received post-op instructions, including a follow-up for stitch removal in 7 days.
Post-Surgery
After my surgery, I picked up my meds at the pharmacy, where the pharmacist gave me detailed instructions. I had to clean the incision site with saline solution and use the provided antibiotic ointment. My eyes were really puffy, and I couldn’t open them fully for the first few days, so seeing clearly was a struggle. I couldn’t wear contact lenses for two weeks, so I stuck to wearing my glasses and a hat when I went out. The first day was rough — my eyes hurt, and I was pretty tired, so I rested at my hotel for the remainder of the day. I used cleansing wipes to avoid getting the incision site wet and had to sleep upright to help with swelling. For the first three days, I iced my eyes constantly, then switched to a heated gel mask after that. The first few days were the hardest, with swelling and bruising, but by day 4, it was already looking better.
Stitch Removal
On day 7, I went back to get my stitches removed, and that was probably the most painful part of the whole process. Dr. Suh was really pleased with how everything turned out and said my eyes looked really pretty. I asked him about getting lash extensions or lash lifts, and he suggested waiting at least three more weeks. He also told me my eyes would be mostly healed by 3 months, but won’t be fully healed until at least 6 months. Hee-Kyung was super sweet and said I could reach out if I had any other questions.
Overall Experience
I had a fantastic experience at Marble. Everyone was friendly and professional, and I absolutely love the results. My eyes are still a bit puffy and the incision lines are noticeable, but they should fade over time. It still feels surreal to think I don’t need eyelid tape anymore. I’m super confident with my new eyes, and I would definitely recommend Marble to anyone considering double eyelid surgery. I couldn’t be happier with the results!
