Since it's my first time on here I'll give you a quick description of myself and my situation. I'm a 21 year old college student, 5'6" and fluctuate between 133-136 lbs. I lost 30 lbs after high school, but still can't seem to get rid of my stubborn flanks and chunky thighs. I still work out 5 days/week, 45-60 minutes/day (my cardio is mostly running and elliptical) I log all my meals and snacks and eat approximately 1400 calories a day. I've been interested in laser liposuction for contouring rather than weight loss for about 6 months.

I'm beyond thrilled to say that I had my free consultation for laser lipo at Sono Bello in Portland today! Shab was really quick and didn't make me feel awkward. (I would be lying if I said it didn't feel a little like a sales pitch, but I expected that because she is just doing her job!) I have huge "love handles" and inner thighs so I decided on my waist, hips, and inner thighs. I'm paying $1249 per area plus an additional "one time surgical equipment fee" of $900. Be prepared for the one time fee, because I wasn't aware of that at first. I'm also paying a little over $100 for post-op garments/prescriptions/etc. The total came out to around $4800. I'm being tested for a blood disease on the 9th that runs in my family, and once that is all cleared I'm scheduled to meet my doctor on April 15th. My surgery will be on April 24th and I'm super excited!

I have my blood test on Tuesday, which I'm a little nervous for! I hope I don't have anything that will complicate the procedure, but I'm trying not to worry. I'll update this again after I find out the results!

I didn't get my blood test results back yet, but should have them soon. I met my Doctor today! He was very nice and very professional. In fact, the entire staff at Sono Bello have done a great job at making me feel comfortable and welcome! One week now until surgery! I'm pumped!

I got my blood results back, and I DON'T have a blood disease which means I get to do this for sure! TOMORROW! I'm very excited to see the results, although I do expect to look a little gross for awhile while I'm recovering. I won't post pictures until the swelling has had a decent amount of time to go down, but I will keep this updated! Wish me luck! :)

I had my surgery today, and I cannot tell you how...

I had my surgery today, and I cannot tell you how happy I am with how it went! My nurse and doctor were so friendly and made it easy for me to relax. My procedure took about 2 1/2 hours, but it felt like only 1 hour because I was so loopy from the medications they gave me. It couldn't have gone smoother, because I barely felt any pain at all, and the pain I did feel was so minimal that I was half asleep the whole time! Afterwards I took a 4 hour nap, and here I am now. I'm sore as if I worked out really hard and feel a little bit gross from all of the incisions, but I know that part will be over soon.

Oh and be prepared to look bigger at first, because of all of the fluids they put inside you. I look like a big bubble right now, so I will post pictures after the swelling has gone down.

I'm so excited to see the final results of this!

Shower day! 24 hours felt like forever! My swelling has gone down a ton already and I think most of it is in my thighs now. I can definitely tell the difference in my waist and hips! (Big sigh of relief) Sono Bello called me this morning to check up on me, and all I can say is wow! I'm so thankful that we have technology like this and that my doctor and nurses are so great! I haven't had to take any more of my pain, anxiety, or nausea meds. I've been taking ibuprofen instead and it's working wonders. I've gone on several short, very slow walks since the procedure just to help me not feel like a bum all day. My bruising is pretty minimal right now, in fact most of it just looks like the pen the doctor used to draw on me. My husband is in awe at the results. I can't imagine what it will look like once all the swelling goes down! I honestly hope for everyone else who does this procedure that it goes as smoothly as mine has been going! I'm super blessed!

Another great day! My swelling is still going down, and I've been recovering smoothly! My hubby and I went for a walk today (a slow one) for about 25 minutes. It was so nice to get out and get some fresh air! The only spot on me that really hurts enough for me to complain a tiny bit is my left inner thigh. It's pretty sore and gets a quick sting sort of feeling every few minutes, but I'm sure that's normal at this stage. I've been getting emails from my doctor about what to expect which has been so accurate and is encouraging. I also get calls from my nurse each day as well. So far I'm loving what this procedure has done for me! I was beginning to think I would never see the end of my love handles, and now I just want to rejoice all day. Haha! Anyway, I finished my antibiotics, and still haven't taken any of the stronger pain meds since the ibuprofen is working just fine. Arnica seems to be helping with the bruising because I still barely have any. I'll post pictures once the swelling is pretty much gone completely.

Quick update:

-Incisions have scabbed over.

-Bruises are mostly yellow now.

-Pain is a little less each day (still taking ibuprofen)

-There is a little bit of swelling on my hips still as well as inner thighs, and I think some of it may still be fluid because of how jello-jiggly it is.

-I have some super dark purple and dark red marks around the yellow bruising on my inner thighs. I assume this is normal, and will ask my doctor at my one week follow up appointment.

-My garment has gotten a little bit less suffocating! I'm wearing it 12 hours a day now, and already ordered my second stage garment.

That's about it for now!

I'm about 1.5 weeks post-op! I decided not to take...

I'm about 1.5 weeks post-op! I decided not to take pictures or measurements yet to avoid obsessing over any swelling or lumps, since all of that is VERY NORMAL in the first couple weeks after surgery! So, I will post after-pictures at 2 weeks. :)

Today is my last day in my first phase compression garment! Yay! I have gotten so much smaller the last couple days and I'm feeling GREAT! The pain is almost gone completely, as well as the bruising. I have a little bit of numbness and itchiness here and there, but it's not unbearable. I've been going on 30-60 minute walks every day with my hubby outside, and so far I haven't had any issues with swelling afterwards.

All I can say right now is WOW! I am incredibly blessed, and I wish you all the best!

I took my post-op measurements today! AMAZING...

I took my post-op measurements today! AMAZING results so far even though I'm still a little swollen! My lumps have gotten better too, thanks to my hubby massaging them!

Hips are 1.5" smaller
Waist is 1" smaller
Thighs are each 1/2" smaller

I got my second stage garment in the mail today and I get to go jogging tonight for the first time since surgery! Soooo excited! :)

I'll probably post another update at 4 weeks. Good luck everyone!

4 weeks post-op update

Today marks 4 weeks since I had my procedure. I'm healing up well! The only pain is a slight stinging when I touch the lumps on my left side, but they have gone down quite a bit. Almost all my swelling and lumps is gone on my right side. I assume this is because I sleep on my side so it's slightly uneven, BUT it doesn't LOOK uneven, it just feels uneven, which should go away completely within 6 months. I've been running an average of 3 miles every day and began some muscle work today, but nothing vigorous. I'm still losing some weight, which is partially due to getting really active again, and also due to less fluid retention.

So far I've lost THREE inches on my hips! That's 1.5" more than at 2 weeks post-op, so if you just had your procedure I think you will be happy to hear that you can continue to get smaller over time. I'm not sure when it will stall but I'll update this again in a couple more weeks or so and take measurements again.

Good luck everyone!

7.5 Month Update!

Sorry it's been so long! I'm really excited to update this review because my results are AMAZING! My scarring is minimal, and still going down. Sensitivity in my inner thighs lasted about 5 months, but is gone now. I'm still exercising and eating healthy. I'm uploading some photos that will be self explanatory.

Measurement Transformations:

Thighs: 1 inch smaller on both!----22.5" before, 21.5" after
"Love Handles": 3.5 inches smaller!!!!----37" before, 33.5" after
Waist: 1.5" smaller!----29.5" before, 28" after

And this was totally unexpected, but my BREASTS grew an inch from 34" to 35"! I would not expect this for your results, but it is definitely a bonus!

It's been a great journey and I sincerely hope everyone who has this procedure done has the kind of experience that I've had from beginning to end!
