28 Yrs Old, 112 Lbs, Nursed 2, Mommy Makeover (Diastasis Recti Repair + Boobs, Probably) - Portland, OR

I had a consultation with Dr. Gorin. He’s my guys. I love the Mom and Pop feel of his office. It’s not fancy, I don’t feel like I’m walking into the future like I did with Dr. Rachel Streu. But I really feel like I’m being treated like a person. I called to schedule my surgery and I was able to talk to his wife, which, you’ll be able to see her results if you look at his before and after TT pics. Anyway, it was lovely talking with her about the recovery and what she experienced. My kids are waking up, maybe I’ll make a big update later. But for now, long story short, in 2 weeks and 6 days, I’ll be in the OR. Holy [RS bleep].

I walked away from my consultation with Dr Streu feeling super sure she was my surgeon. But the more I’ve flipped through her photos and compared them again the results Dr Gorin gets (another PDX based surgeon), the more doubt I feel about her.
I’ve set up a consultation with him for mid May. I’m really looking forward to it.
Dr Gorin does great work but here are my reservations; he performs surgery out of his office, it’s not a hospital or surgery center so he doesn’t keep patients overnight like I really prefer, a nurse may administer the anesthesia... ugh it’s all safety stuff! It’s like the ultimate “would you rather”. Would you rather get awesome results but feel unsafe OR have less than ideal results and feel perfectly safe???

I really wish I had met with other surgeons before meeting with Dr Rachel Streu. She is wonderful and I’m 99.9% sure that she is my surgeon. I just wanted to scope the market to find “the one”, now I feel like I’d just be wasting another surgeons time.
Why she is probably my gal;
-she and her staff are incredibly tender and empathetic people.
-the surgery center was super nice and welcoming.
-she was knowledgeable and was receptive to my barrage of questions. She didn’t dumb things down for me, she really gave me everything I wanted to know.
-she keeps TT patients overnight (This is what I’m most comfortable with and I won’t see a surgeon who doesn’t practice this).
-she is focused on giving me a very natural look with my BA.
-lastly, she was a great listener and talked sweetly but even greater than those things, she’s a realist. She was not trying to up sell me or tell me I was going to come out looking like Beyoncé. She told me what she could do with my body on my frame, with in the parameters of the surgeries I’m on board with. I just freaking like her.
She thinks I should do 250cc low to moderate profile. But could go as high as 310ccs. Also, she said I’m a great candidate for both the TT (for abdominal muscle repair) and the BA.
