Just like many on here, I've had large breasts...

WORTH IT
Just like many on here, I've had large breasts since I was about 12/13. In 6th grade I was a C cup and by high school I was a DD. I have always been on the curvy side but when I was in high school I lost about 30lbs and my breasts never got smaller. They continued to grow and grow, and this past year I lost 30 lbs again and they didn't change.

I go to a chiropractor weekly. I spill out of my very expensive bras. Nothing fits correctly. Because I'm so short, my breasts almost cover my entire torso. My back aches and arches. My bras dig into my shoulders. I'm always in pain and I feel like people pay far more attention to my breasts than I'd like. I get rashes under each breasts. The list goes on and on and I'm ready to change things!

As a matter of fact, I was approved for a breast reduction when I was 16 but then our family moved suddenly and insurance changed - and I haven't followed through on a consultation until now. My surgery is for December 1st and I am SO EXCITED for the special "Christmas gift" from my insurance company.

Slightly nervous - worried about nipple sensation and breasts feeding, but I am honestly so happy this is finally happening that I'm more excited than anything else.

You are about to feel a whole lot better.  You will honesty feel like a new woman and will love the results.  My nipples were hyper sensitive after surgery.  The slightest thing touching them drove me nuts.  That did settle down by week 6 post op and all was well.

Please update us often so we know how everything is going.

I actually have not lost any nipple sensation. Mine were hypersensitive at first and now, three weeks and change post op they feel relatively normal. I think each person is different because I had feeling the first day after.

Why would you rid yourself of hypersensitive nipples? Mine are too and I LOVE it!!!

That is not true for everyone. I have full nipple sensation after my surgery. All bodies are different. I had a lot more pain than most people!

This is my life. I'm always readjusting - probably every 15 mins or so. When I don't, this is the result.

Hi everyone!

So, my significant other admitted to me that he's really dreading surgery. It's making him anxious because my breasts will look different and he has a discomfort with scars - he received skid bet transplant and the situation left him pretty scarred.

Okay, bad joke.

But it did and now he's worried about my breasts.

Did anyone else have a similar situation? I can tell it's really bothering him and he doesn't want things to change, but I'm definitely not going to change my plans... Any ideas for combatting this?

I am sorry, that adds a layer of stress to the situation. I am glad to hear that you're not letting it deter you from having the procedure. I don't have a lot to work from since my boyfriend was very supportive since he knew I would stop being in so much pain after having it done.

Honestly, this is for you. This is for your comfort and this is about your body. The scars will fade in time, but it takes a long time. Ask your doctor about scar therapy - it's a pain in the ass but two days in I see flattening in the worst part of my scar. But you have to stick with it and do your massages and wear your sheeting. I just don't want you to feel bad about your choice because he is worried about your scars. It's not about him.

Let him know that the better you feel about your body, the happier you will be with him exploring your body. I have found this to be true since my surgery.

use a lot of vitamin E oil on the scars - I have what used to be a really huge, nasty scar on the side of my foot from reconstructive surgery on my heel (after car accident), and 12 years later, it is barely visible!!!! Hopefully vitamin e will help you in your more urgent issue:)
