Beyond Amazing Experience - We decided that I needed an upper and a lower body lift

Dr. Agha is not just a surgeon, he is an artist. I came to Dr. Agha after endless research (and living in-between NYC and Dallas at the time) after I had received Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery and had lost a total of 136 pounds. I was very self conscious due to excess skin, and honestly was overwhelmed with the thought of even going to any plastic surgery consultations, since I felt so much had to be done. I wanted to find a professional plastic surgeon who didn't see my body the same way as he saw a nose job or a simple breast augmentation, I wanted to find someone who saw the big picture. My self confidence was totally lacking. I had been on a few other consultations, and then I met Dr. Agha and his staff. Everything from the initial consultation, the scheduling process, the financing, the mannerisms of Dr. Agha and his staff, gave me hope - I was so previously overwhelmed and was about to throw in the towel and accept that the loose skin, diminished self confidence, and the lifestyle I was at the time currently living, was just the result of losing 130+ pounds and that I should be proud and not embarrassed by my loose skin and how disarranged my body had become. After the consultation with Dr. Agha, Shireen, and Chelsea, I knew I had allies on my side and they too wanted me to feel my best self. Without hesitation, I was confident that Dr. Agha would be the surgeon for me. We decided that I needed an upper and a lower body lift - consisting of a Brachioplasty, Bra Roll Excision, Breast Augmentation, Liposuction, and then once I healed from that phase, we would tackle the Lower Body Lift. Dr. Agha and his staff were excited that they had received such a heavy case load (no pun intended) from me, and even though I still felt a bit overwhelmed, the support of Dr. Agha and his team gave me a spark of hope that one day at a time, we would get this done together. Dr. Agha listed to all of my concerns, was receptive to all of my emotions (I promise you there were many), and made me feel supported and safe.

Scheduling- It couldn't have been any easier. Shireen, my coordinator, is warm, responsive, and precise. Shireen and Dr. Agha worked together on my behalf to maximize my results in the most efficient manner, while still being effective - a lot had to be done to my body! I let Shireen know my work schedule, and she made it happen.

Day of surgery- I arrived early in the morning and was very anxious. Dr. Agha, his anesthesiologist Dr. Choan, and his nurses - Chelsea and Roma greeted me and made me feel at ease right away. The operating room was one of the most beautiful, state of the art operating rooms I could have ever imagined, but I wasn't surprised - at this point, everything Dr. Agha and his staff did was to a higher, next level standard, so why wouldn't the operating rooms be also be a reflection of that? The staff was articulate, educational and was very team oriented, which continued to make me feel safe and confident that I had made the right decision. Dr. Agha performed an 8 hour surgery, I can't imagine feeling safe with anyone else for that long on the operating table.

The recovery process was what I was looking forward to the least. I learned the human body is truly capable of amazing things and an amazing recovery. Dr. Agha's staff was responsive to my text messages, emails, photo text messages, and every tiny concern I had during my recovery. Of course you are given an in depth post-op care folder as well as medical supplies to take home, but when you are actually going through the recovery, everything and anything seems 100% dire. You become vulnerable to you own body's recovery speed and it can feel overwhelming. I was never at a pain level I wasn't able to tolerate, and I am amazed with my results and the recovery process.

Dr. Agha and his staff from the beginning greeted me with arms wide open and it stayed that way through the whole process. Plastic surgery is not something to be afraid of, or think that it is only 'superficial'. The quality of my life has changed so much since meeting Dr. Agha and his team. When I think back to the first time I walked through the doors at Dr. Agha's beautiful office, it makes me emotional - I had finally met a team of medical professionals that came together to achieve the best version of myself I could imagine. I will forever be grateful for the first time I walked through the doors of Dr. Agha's beautiful office and state of the art surgery center, because they too made me feel just as beautiful. To Dr. Agha and his staff- thank you a million times over.
