chin liposuction | age 20 | better than kybella

Since I was 10, the biggest insecurity I had about my face was my double chin and non-apparent jawline. Everyone would lie to me with the overused line "it's just baby fat, it will go away" OR "you are beautiful, you don't need to change yourself". I am very HONEST with myself so quite frankly my profile looked like crap - we don't need to beat around the bush and I wanted to fix it. And even with my head being in a neutral position, my double chin was running the show. There was nothing I could do about it.
From my personal research, chin liposuction has the highest chance of getting rid of all the fat and contoured jawline (granted you go to the right surgeon and do the follow-up work). It takes one procedure and one month of swelling/recovery. The success rate on realself for chin liposuction was 94% which is amazing. Not only did it get rid of all the fat underneath my chin, but the doctor was able to contour my jawline giving me the full look I wanted. It also lasts a lifetime since they permanently get rid of the fat cells. It's a very easy and fast surgery - way more minimal than a boob or nose job. It was the best choice out of all my options and decided to opt out of a chin augmentation (wanted to see how lipo worked first).
As I was looking into all the AMAZING transformations on realself, I screenshotted my favorite results which happened to all be from one doctor in Texas (Dr Ronald Friedman). Everyone raved about their staff and how they took their time with each client. As well as the doctor being extremely gifted and honest with results of the procedure. I LOVED working with them - their customer service was superb which was what motivated to fly out from California to see them.
Surgery was nerve-wracking, but not painful. Rather it was uncomfortable, but it's a 45 minute procedure so totally doable to get through it. The staff and doctor made me extremely comfortable, my boyfriend even got to sit in the room and hold my hand.
The first 2 days of recovery were the worst - couldn't swallow or sleep. Even with my extra strength tylenol, it wasn't cutting it. BUT this should not deter anyone - I have a low pain tolerance AND I would get this surgery done again in a heartbeat. The pain and tight headcast was all worth it.
I think what led to amazing results was listening to the doctor's instruction to a T. I had to wear my headcast consistently for about a month and perform daily massages after a week. It was tedious and I even had to wear my headcast to work for two weeks. BUT again, it was worth it.
There is so much I want to add to this review because I find this procedure fascinating.

It wouldn't let me upload photos in my original review. The BEST source for choosing my surgeon and deciding upon chin liposuction was realself.com. I call it the yelp of plastic surgery. The worst thing about researching plastic surgeons on their website and social media is I felt like I was being sold a marketing campaign. And yelp has terrible reviews for almost every plastic surgeon because other surgeon offices are creating fake accounts with nasty reviews to bring down their competition. Which is why realself was a saving grace - legitimate reviews with people's own progress pics and novels on the whole process of their procedure. You can also submit photos and have plastic surgeons answer what the best procedure could be for your face. It's fascinating and what led me to be SO confident in my decision to get chin liposuction.
