I’ve wanted a breast reduction for years now, but this year I’m going to try really hard to have the procedure done. I have a very tiny frame so having large breasts has caused me a ridiculous amount of pain in my neck, shoulders and back. Not to mention the fact that it’s extremely difficult to find bras that fit me correctly. I have UPMC for You (Medicaid) insurance so hopefully they’re willing to cover the procedure. I think I’m going to start making calls tomorrow to schedule something. Fingers crossed.

Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Dr. Shestak. He's everything you could want in a surgeon: caring, skilled, knowledgeable and more. You can tell him and his staff do their absolute best to make patients feel happy, safe and comfortable which I was really appreciative of.

I went through Medicaid insurance in Washington State. I did have to have documentation of the neck and back pain, but they approved me quickly based on that and the reports from my Primary Care Doctor and the Plastic Surgeon. Good luck!

My consultation is a week from today and I’m honestly so excited. The receptionist I spoke to on the phone was really nice. I hope everything goes well. :)

Hey all. So today I went to pick up a bra in my desired size to take with me to the plastic surgeon’s office. I also needed to pick up one for now since my current favorite is starting to get worn down. Honestly at my current size I absolutely hate bra shopping (or shopping in general really), it’s just so irritating because my boobs are way too big for my tiny frame. Also I’m concerned that my spine is twisted or something because my shoulders naturally rotate towards my right but my hips face forward. I’ll bring it up at my appointment on Tuesday. I’m still really nervous about the insurance aspect. Wish me luck.
