I love this peel. It removed sun damage and fine lines on my face. I didn't experience any burning from the towelettes. The worst part was the itching which was pretty much controlled my the peel protection. My skin looks better everyday! Apply the peel protection as soon as you feel the itch. It will make it worse for about 15 min then much better.

Hello there. Glad to know you are happy with your peel. I have been thinking of getting this peel. I am AA as well. I have seen mixes reviews about it as far as our skin is concerned. Your results look great. Did a dermatologist do this for you or did you go to a spa? I am a little hesitant to get it so I like seeing good reviews. Makes me feel better and want to get it done.

Will you be getting additional ones? They say sometimes you need more than one based on the severity of what you wish to treat.
June 4, 2016
I absolutely will! I'm using the bleaching cream now which has helped with the remaining sun damage. I'm getting another one in 4 weeks to make everything smooth and even. Then 3 times a year for anti aging.

This is good to know. I have olive color skin so I've reluctant with getting any kinds of peels or lasers.

Is this just one treatment? Does solely one peel suffice ?
June 8, 2016
Yes just one treatment. My skin look better everyday. I only wear eye makeup so I'm going to get one more treatment so my skin will look flawless.

I like the Melange Peel. It changed my life. I haven't had one for a few years, but maintain my skin with these wipes from the doctor's office. The wipes are kojic acid and a few other things. Your skin looks good!

Is it safe for African American skin?

Where did you get the melanage peel done? Ive done "Old" Cosmelan for yrs and gotten great results. I recently did the new Cosmelan MD and i got NO results. So disappointed. The Old Cosmelan is hard to find. If u can share where you got yr peel it would be greatly appreciated.

Wow! It looks like you had great results! I just got a vi peel today, so fingers crossed that it helps with my melasma too!

Hello there. Would like to know if the peel worked for you. Also, did you have to use any products(to prepare the skin) before you could get the peel? Thank you. Cathleen
August 13, 2017
Hi, Bells! No, the Vipeel did not work. It did make my skin look really nice for about a week, but after that, my melasma was actually worse! I regret doing the vipeel.
August 13, 2017
Oh no! So sorry to hear that:-(. Now I seriously have to reconsider my options. Was this the VI medical peel you had done coz I saw at a provider in my area they have the medical one for R3000 and then other VI peels, about 6 or so different ones at R500 each. Thank you for your replies and good luck with whatever you decide to try next. I feel like I'm just hitting dead ends trying to find treatment for this condition :-(.
August 13, 2017
Oh and they told me that I would have to prepare my skin first before doing any peel and the products would cost me an additional R2500 which is ridiculous considering the results aren't guaranteed. Did you have to prepare your skin first?
August 14, 2017
It was the medical grade peel, I think. I went to Spade Skincare in Redondo Beach, so you can look at their web site to see exactly what they use. I did not need to prep my skin first. I would definitely not recommend vipeel for melasma. They were supposed to follow up two YAG laser treatments, but since the peel made my skin worse, I was afraid to try the laser and didn't go back for that. I have heard that 4% hydraquinone works, but I haven't tried anything stronger than 2%, which didn't help. I hope you find something! I've also never been able to treat mine and it is very frustrating. I'll keep posting if I find anything that works!

Hi there! Thank you so so much for the feedback. It saddens me though that something so costly and full of promises can be so ineffective(for some not all). The spa I went to refused to do any VI peel on me unless I purchased 3 of their very expensive products. They claimed it'll not work otherwise but I contacted the VI peel company directly who advised me otherwise as all comments and reviews I've read up to now never mentioned any products being used before. I do know that they make their commission off products sold or rather forced onto clients, hence their refusal to do the peel for me. Products after a peel makes more sense to me. Anyway, I guess this is the one peel I will not be investing in/wasting money on if the (not necessary at all) products to "prepare" my skin cost way more than the peel itself. Ok. Rant over :). Here's to the next promise that'll be sold to us.

Second peel

MPBrew
I had a second peel. This time I had the stronger VI peel II. There was quite a difference. My face looked like I had a really bad sunburn and the skin that peeled off was much thicker. The results were great. I highly recommend the VI peel for sun damage.

Hello,
Can you refer me to the dermatologist office you went too? Name and address please. Thanks
June 11, 2017
I went to Natures Paradise Day Spa in Pinole. The owner of the spa did my peel. She's great! You can get a 10% off coupon online.
June 11, 2017
thank you !

How was your skin after ? We're you able to go to work? Was it peeling really obvious ? I can't really get time off so I'm just wondering what my skin will be like during the week.
June 11, 2017
You'll need to at least two days off. Skin will literally be hanging off of you face. You have to let it fall of naturally. Peeling starts day 3.
June 11, 2017
oh okay thank you so much
June 23, 2017
I just had the peel as well did u see a bigger difference with the second peel? I've gotten a lot of compliments with this one peel but i think i need a second one
June 23, 2017
Yes big difference in second peel. I can't wait for my next one.
