Piercing Scar Removal

Seventhdawn777
One thing that has thrown me off for awhile when doing my makeup is my piercing scar above my upper lip. It has been there for about 11 years now. I've been trying to figure out how to get rid of it forever. Now it's becoming more common to get rid of scars from piercings. Today I got my piercing hole punched out with a biopsy punch and stitched up. It was numbed and stitched, it looks like one stitch. I wait one week and will get it removed. The process was less than 10 minutes, and the day of my first appointment (which was today) they were able to do it. I will post photos once the stitch is removed next week.

Hello, did the doctor also remove the tract or just do a punch biopsy? I also have two Monroe scars, very close together just like yours and am seeing a dermatologist Thursday.

Stitches removed.

So I got my stitches removed a week after getting them. Doctor said that it will take around a year for the new scar to be of satisfaction. Here’s a photo of my piercing scar before the scar revision. I had one hole from piercing it myself, and the other hole was having it redone. I hated looking at it. Had it for 11 years, and piercing has been out for 7 years. This photo was taken a month before the scar revision.

It’s been a week since the stitches have been removed. I have been assured that my scar is NOT keloiding, despite my concern. Discoloration will be present awhile and I am told to wait approx a year for satisfactory result. I am regularly covering the scar in a thick layer of aquaphor and washing my face with an antibacterial Dove bar. I’ve been covering it with a band aid when I go outside so that the sun doesn’t discolor it even more. Will be putting sunscreen on it.
