Haven't used cream in 5 nights!

I haven't used the compound in 5 nights and my skin has stopped peeling and being red. I am pleased with the results this far. I am going to begin using Retinol 0.5% tonight every third night in hopes of minimizing the peeling. I am happy to have learned from everybody to wait after I wash my face to apply cream and to just use a pea sized amount. I'm excited to move forward with this powerful anti-ager. I also now know to put my moisturizer on top right after putting it on. Thank you everybody for your tips and supportive responses. Can anyone recommend a good coconut oil?

Made my decision

I decided to use a Retinol 0.5% every third night and see how that goes. I am really wondering why my derm gave my a compound of tretinoin and Hydroquinone when everything I've read about that combo says it's an irritant and shouldn't be used together! I purchased the retinol from Image skincare which you can only get through a derm or a licensed esthetician. I think this is a much milder route for me to. Like I said my skin has already lightened up a shade and I'm happy about that! Thank you to everyone who offered me support and tips!! Especially the tip about waiting 20 min before applying after washing. I will keep everyone posted!!

Really reconsidering!!! Help!!!

I am really reconsidering using Retin A but I also don't want to quit before I see real improvement. My skin has already lightened up a lot. I always wear sunscreen but get really tan anyway and have a lot of hyper-pigmentation too. My derm didn't tell me anything about waiting 20-30minutes to put it on after I wash my face. They told me I could use a serum (that they sold me for a lot of money) and to moisturizers before putting it on. So I guess I have been doing it wrong according to everyone's posts. Help!!! Any suggestions?
