Rough day.

So today my day at work was long and somewhat stressful. We did a huge move and had to move things that were nowhere near light enough for me to carry. I moved what I could (like one thing lol) and had to deal with people wondering why I wasn't helping. I just simply said my doctor told me not to lift things that are too heavy right now. In the process, more like an hour in to the move, I could feel my left side of my chest muscle tightening around the implant followed by some pain. I also noticed my implant swelling right away because my left side was bigger than the other. I immediately took Tylenol and tried to take it easy for the rest of the day. Knowing I had an eventful weekend I knew I was doing too much. I called my ps to see if there was anything I should be worried about but they assured me I should be fine be that my bodies most likely reacting to me actually being active with my arms. They also told me not to ice and if the swelling doesn't go away by next week or if I have more concerns before then, then I should come right back in to see them!
Swelling has gone down already! And I'm feeling fine! My last appointment with my ps he told me If my steri strips on my incisions do not fall off within a week, then to take them off. Well, tonight I took them off! Because they were still plastered to my body I decided to take a hot steamy shower and let the steam loosen it up. I took them off and it does feel a little weird. My ps also told me to buy silicone strips to wear over the incisions. I did a little more research on here and I purchased scar away silicone sheets it was around $20 and it comes with a 2 month supply. I'll have to call and find out when I can start using scar cream because I know that'll be my next worry. I'm also a little paranoid because now I feel like the scar could easily re-open. They already don't look good to me. I'll give it some time and hopefully I'll see a change. I'll really be taking it easy now!

Busy weekend

So I had a very busy weekend! On Saturday I took a chance even though I'm not even 3 weeks out from surgery and went to get sized at vs. I know I can't wear a regular underwire bra for a couple months but I was curious. I got measured and I was a 32DD! I know VS bras run like a size big, but my ultimate goal was to be around a C. I honestly felt so good not having to look at myself in a "baby bra" as I call them lol n I really felt more confident. I didn't try on anything else just because I know I still have swelling that needs to go down and there's no point if I can't wear them yet and my size changes.
Later on in the day I received a package I had been waiting for. It was a big clothes order with one bathing suit. Since about middle school (I'm 23) I haven't worn a bathing suit. I loved the shape of my body just not how I filled out the tops. So I'd avoid pools, vacations, anything that involves bathing suits. I tried on the bathing suit and literally cried. I had a moment lol. Now I can start buying all of the stuff I've always wanted to wear and that just made it even more real.
Later that night I did go out. I went to a few bars with friends, I didn't ask my ps about it but because I was off my meds I did drink a little, and I wore a tube dress, which I've never comfortably been able to wear before. I'd have to figure out how to hide the straps of my bra to make the dress look nice, which never worked out. This time I wore a bandeau top in a small, to kind of still have pressure on the implants, and just threw the dress on over top. Once again I absolutely loved the feeling of not worrying about how my dress looked. After 3-4 hours of being out I did start to feel pain around my incisions. I didn't really do much while I was out though, I still say I took it easy. I also made sure to drink plenty of water after.
Overall the pains are really now like 99.9% gone. I can sit up on my own right after waking up. I can lift my arms above my head. I can drive without pain, I can twist to my body to move things. Sometimes I have to remind myself I did just have surgery though. I can open doors if they're not too heavy, but after a long day of doing a lot, my arms will get tired.
I have a really busy and demanding day coming up tomorrow at work, so another update should be up soon!

Overdue update

7/12
The day after surgery I went to see my ps just so he could make sure everything looks right, and to take off the bandages. That day wasn't too bad and my pain was still a 2-3. He told me I was able to shower which was nice and he said everything looked great. I got to put on my sports bra that I had bought which did seem really tight but I knew that was just because of the swelling. That same day I went home and had a friend visit. We went for a slow walk around my neighborhood which was fine but everything I did tired me out.
7/13 (two days after surgery)
I finally took a shower lol. Since I'm still at home my mom and dad were taking great care of me. My mom had me leave the bathroom door unlocked so I could take a quick shower. Of course I wanted to finally really see how my implants were looking. They didn't have that high boxy looking shape, but more of that torpedo shape. Because I didn't start out with much my skin was stretched really tight. It was to the point the skin in between was lifted, which honestly did gross me out lol. I jumped in the shower and that lasted like 2 minutes. I got dizzy and had to hurry up and get out. The rest of that day I spent propped up in my bed.
7/14-7-17
These days were mainly spent napping. I did get to go out for a full day and do some shopping with my mom, but I couldn't carry my purse. It was just too heavy. Pain was once again a 2-3. On the 17th I did drive my car for the first time since surgery. My muscles would tense up and I could feel them squeezing my implants. It's a very uncomfortable feeling but by 7/19 I noticed my muscles loosening up again when driving.

Overall the first week was pretty easy. I was able to take Tylenol during the day and the heavier meds at night and sleeping on my back wasn't that hard for me. I still sleep on my back because I'm not comfortable sleeping any other way yet, I'm just not sleeping propped up now. I went back to work on the 18th and I'd highly suggest If you can take longer than a week off from work. My work week was okay, but as I mentioned before the first day was really tough with driving.
The main pains I had were on my right side, I have sharp nerve pains that shoot from the side of the implant and up and across. That only happens when I twist a certain way or get up a certain way. I was getting constant tingling and numbness throughout each day, especially if the temperature changed. Within that week I could also tell my skin was stretching and my implants were dropping some.
I did have one last appointment with my ps on the 20th. He showed me how to push/massage the implant and that I had to it 20 times twice a day. He said everything still looked great and to come back in 3 months.
When I had started working I just took the oxycodone pill and muscle relaxer pill at night before bed. Tonight I'm not taking anything. I feel good. The sharp pains I was getting are pretty much gone. The numbness and tingling is also pretty much gone. I can lift my arms pretty high, but not all the way. Driving feels 100% normal and my chest muscles finally calmed themselves. Looking at myself in the mirror I can see how they've changed but I'm not sure if they'll really change that much more. My I implants do seem small on me but I feel like I look almost the same as I did with the overly padded bras but this time it's all me. I'm okay with that, and so far I'm content. I feel like the swellings definitely going down and I'm so happy with how they're turning out! I know this post is like a whole chapter but I had a lot to try and fit in lol. From now on I'll keep up with the updates. Also I'll get some actual pictures up I just didn't get any of them to show the changes over the first week.
