After losing over 100 pounds and a tummy tuck/breast lift in 2008 it was time to get rid of the bingo/bat wings. I was so tired of having to buy shirts that fit my 3x arms but not my L body. The doctor who did my TT and BL retired so I searched for a new one and found Dr. Ivan's Percec at the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania. She lipo'd over two pounds of fat and remove over a pound of skin from each arm!

I came home with Ace wraps, but no drains, could shower after two days and each day showed more and more progress. I'm still sore at the incision and a bit from the lipo, and am wearing compression garments 24/7 but I'm very pleased with the results!

Hi Deb

Thanks for sharing your experience with the arm lift. I hope everything continues smoothly for you (the bruising looks painful!). Looking forward to hearing about any scar treatment your PS recommends.

I'm getting ready for my arm / breast lift (AND lower body lift) in the fall and hope once I have the scars I will be ok wearing sleeveless since I'm so self-conscious right now with my hanging arms.

Thanks for the response and good luck with your work in the fall. I haven't worn shirt sleeves or sleeveless in over 30 years, so I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be using a silicone gel scar treatment, once all the weeping from spit stitches stops. Next is a bra line lift for me.

There isnt a lot of support out there for arm lifts. Im wondering how the pain was post op? Im glad you're happy with your results. Anything you can share Id really appreciate. Can you post some pictures of how they look now?

My best advice is get good compression garments, especially if your doctor does lipo on the arms. I'll take pics tomorrow.

I'm at week 7 post-op. Still wearing compression sleeves 24/7, except yo shower. Still gave a few weepy spots from spit stitches being pulled and snipped by surgeon last week. I'm very pleased.

Looks like the cut was made posterior. Could you post some pictures showing what it looks like from the back of arms? I've read posterior scars heal better and more skin can be taken off.

Your arms look great! I was just wondering how much of the scar is seen from the back with arms down. I want to do this but scared to death and healing takes so long, plus I live alone, plus only a couple ps nearby, and a few facial ps/ent.

You really can't see much of my scars when my arms are down, she really did an amazing job.

Thank you. It wasn't awful in the pain department. The worst was wearing compression sleeves through last summer.
