Childbirth and fluctuating weight over the years...
WORTH IT$16,000
Childbirth and fluctuating weight over the years have taken a toll. I could never get rid of the apron/overhang that I've had since I I had my son. No amount if exercise would eliminate the overhang. I am not at my ideal weight but I'm seeing more and more plus size women having these procedures (with great results) so I decided not to wait. I am 5"5 and weighed 203 on the morning of surgery. Ideally (for me) I'll get down to 175-180 which is a 10/11 for me. I was initially going to get just a TT but decided to go for it and do the full Mommy Makeover. My PS (Dr. Jocelyn Leveque) wasn't sure whether she would do Lipo or not and that was left open as an option. She told me that she felt I could and would get a great result. I had 2 consultations and a preop appointment. Dr Leveque and her staff are great. She does her surgeries at Gulf Breeze hospital.
My surgery went well and my recovery started well.
I prepared by getting any and everything I felt would help make me more comfortable during my recovery. My surgery was on a Thursday and I went in at 6am and had surgery from 7:30 to 12noon and then to recovery and discharged by 2pm.
I spoke with a nurse the day of my F/u appointment, Tuesday , 2/14, and asked if I could take off my compression hose. She said yes and I did. My appointment went fine -- I got to change binders and that felt great. As the week progressed one of my thighs started feeling weird (sore, weak , tender, warm). It didn't HURT but just felt weird. After noticing this a couple of days I mentioned it to my mom on Friday 2/17 and she asked me to call my PS about it. I did and one of the nurses scheduled me for an ultrasound where they determined I have DVTs (blood clots) in my left thigh. I spent the night in the hospital (got lovenox injections and left the next day with a prescription for Xoralto). I followed up with my primary care doctor and will be on Xoralto for six months. I'm currently 16 days post opp and things are going well with my recovery aside from the DVT setback.
