4 1/2 weeks post op

Just wanted to post some update pictures for a month out. Some more of the swelling has decreased but abdomen, side and low back still tight. I did get to go to the gym starting this week since I did not have any abdominal muscle repair. It was nice to get to go. Only went twice so far since Tuesday which was a 4 week marker. Definitely have to work my endurance back up.

2 1/2 weeks post op

I will be 3 weeks post op on Tuesday and just wanted to share some after pics along my PS journey. I say journey because I feel like it's a long road that I will need to navigate with patience...lol.

The first 1-2 weeks were definitely challenging for me. I felt I was on an emotional roller coaster and had some momentary depression due to decreased independence, being cooped up at home, not being able to wear any of my clothes, not being able to have the intimacy and affection with my husband and just not really feeling very attractive period.

Went back to work 1 week post op and started feeling a little better. Still had a bit of a hunch and was swollen, but I could hide it under my scrubs, luckily! Now I'm definitely standing up straighter although my tummy can be tight after I've been sitting for a while. That tightness has decreased some since I started using a massager. Still have more swelling than I would like but I understand that is part of the process. Not quite able to fit into my clothes like I did before surgery. I can wear jeans at least but have to use the rubber band trick to secure the button. My back is still swollen too since I had the lipo done back there as well.

Overall, I'm glad that I did the surgery, but wish I had a little more patience so I don't have as many moments of frustration with the healing process.

I do love the size of my breast so far. I thought maybe I would feel like they are too big, but I feel like they were exactly what I was wanting.

Post op day #2

So I had my surgery Tuesday and it seemed like everything went well form docs and surgical staffs perspective. And I would have to agree so far. However, I have not taken any of the binders off yet to see what it looks like. I will get to take my first shower today which I'm excited about and the. I should get to see what some of it looks like. I'm definitely swollen and bruised and I had to pee like crazy the night before. Literally every hour on the dot. Good news is that it did bring my swelling down. I was swollen in the arms and legs. I've also been managing to walk around a bit more. Getting in and out of bed has become much easier. I just can tell that I'm fairly weak. Hopefully with more movement I will gain my strength back quickly. So far I'm glad I did it and glad to have my mother here to help with this week. If you have some that can do that I highly recommend it.
