Life Changing Surgery, and Excellent Experience.
WORTH IT
The first thing I want to do in this review is give a big THANK YOU from me and my family to Dr. Gershenbaum for changing my life. From pre-op to post-op, my experience with the office of Dr. Gershenbaum was A+. Eyra, their patient coordinator, did an outstanding job. She quickly responded to my initial questions, was understanding of my case, always tried to accommodate me, and was very good at explaining the whole process.
For about 3 years prior to going to Dr. G, I was living with constant pain and a major deformity due to a rare type of injury sustained in the military. This injury caused my pectoral muscles to atrophy in the center of the chest and leave a gap exposing my sternum, thus causing tenderness and “stabbing pains” in the area. I was seen by several doctors, but none really presented a good solution. It always felt as though I was just being passed around from doctor to doctor with the same answer every time, “We’re not sure if this type of procedure would even help,” or, “I don’t have much experience in this, I’ll refer you to someone else.” Quite frankly, I’d grown frustrated and down about the issue, my pain was interfering with my lifestyle, and I was extremely self-conscious of my appearance. After years of getting the run around with the medical services provided by my insurance, and after some research, I decided to go see a specialist in the private sector. I contacted Dr. Gershenbaum’s office asking if he would be able to help with this uncommon case. He reviewed my case file/photos and said to come down to Miami so he could help me.
My first appointment with Dr. G was awesome, he took the time to explain the procedure, and took measurements in order to create a custom implant specific for my needs. He understood the issues with my case, was very welcoming, and gave me hope again.
Prior to surgery, Dr. G’s nurse staff emailed me with ALL pertinent information. I was provided with everything from instructions on what to do/what not to do before surgery, what to expect during and after the operation, suggested items I may need, hotels close to Dr. G’s office, medication scripts for post-op, and more.
All throughout the process, I felt as though Dr. G and his staff truly took care of me and took their time to ensure I would be happy with my results. I lack the words to describe how happy I am with the results. I highly and sincerely recommend Dr. Sam Gershenbaum. I truly can’t find the words to express just how amazing this medical professional and his staff are. This man changed my life! The pain is no longer affecting my active lifestyle, I am able to exercise, and I look normal again!
