Extended Arm Lift - Pasadena, CA

ORIGINAL POST

I'm 3 months post op and feel amazing. My surgeon...

WORTH IT$7,800
I'm 3 months post op and feel amazing. My surgeon pulled as tight as he could and did lipo on my back which really smoothed me out. I had the extra skin on my arms from loosing a lot of weight, this was by far the most painful surgery I have ever had, but totally worth it. My arms felt foreign for about 6-8 weeks, over the first few weeks I gained range of motion back ie, putting my hair up. I am now back to working out and exercising to look my best. The scars are thin and fading by the day.
The Scars extend from my elbow, down my armpit and under my breast, they look the worst under my arm.. but I'm using scar cream my Dr. gave me and its working nicely.
I still try to use armsleeves/compression as much as possible, I found the best thing was little girls tights and cutting them appropriately.

I still have numbness on the incision line and some swelling in my left hand because of all the lymph systems and nerves in our arms.

I am so happy with my surgery!!!

Dr. O'Toole is amazing, a true artist. He knew exactly what needed to be done in order for me to look my best. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for any kind of body work! Best decision I've made in a long time!

Welcome and thanks so much for sharing your experience with us!

Congratulations on your weight loss! Did you have WLS, or did you do it through diet/exercise? I'm so glad you're enjoying your results. I need this surgery myself and I'm always so worried abut splitting the stitches.
I had a gastric bypass in 2000. I went from 320 to 150 the rested at 180lbs for years. When I has my arms done I was back up to 197 which I was for a few years, so I'm. Not small, but my arms and back were so ugly! Now I work out everyday and back to losing weight. My stitches did not split. Only thing is under my arms the scar spread a bit and is red. I try not to touch them except to put the scar gel or oil on them. I'm very self conscious of the scars... But I guess I just have to own it. :) Good luck
Wow, congrats, you've done so well! The scars are something that I figure I will just have to live with, if I want all of the excess skin removed. There has to be a compromise and I guess that is it!
hi Kirsty. I too was worried about splitting stitches and contemplated surgery for a while. I finally decided it was time (after loosing 70 lbs). My arms were extra loose due to loosing weight about 8 years ago, gaining the weight and then loosing it again). I am 4 weeks post operation and I feel great. I only had two small open wounds in my armpits.. it was my fault because I slept on my arms. The wounds are now almost completely closed. YAY.. and I feel a great... I expressed to my doctor my concerns about the stitches and he said he would not pull "extra" tight. I am very happy with my arms. =)
Congrats!! Do you have any before and after pics to share? Thanks.
My doctor has some great before pics. Unfortunately I didn't really take any. Waiting til my next follow up to get good afters... I'll try to take and post some soon. My back is so flat now too. No more elephant, rolling back :)
Nice ;) Thanks again for sharing and i look forward to your pics. Bella
I'm having an extended bracioplasty with Liposuction along with a breast reduction on nov.3. Do you have any advice as far as going to the bathroom and cleaning yourself? I like to be self sufficient in that area. Any recovery tips would be appreciated. I wish I was as far along as you are. I'm getting nervous about the pain and down time but not about my ps work.
Would you post before & after pictures. Thankyou so much! ♡
I'm planning on this next...so around 3 month mark is wen i might start feeling somewhat normal! I just had a lower face/neck lift 3 weeks ago...so i don't know if im ready for more pain yet. Congratulations....
