Voluma - Not Happy with the Results ...leaves a Ridge Under my Eyes - Paramus, NJ

I have to say that I LOVE Dr. Breslow. He did a wonderful job on a very difficult surgery and I could not be happier both with the actual surgery and staff to the recovery and results. That said, I went back to the Breslow Center to use some of my plastic cash that you receive after having a procedure and am very disappointed with the outcome. I have had several different fillers used with another center with no complaints. However, upon an initial consult with Melissa, the nurse who does the fillers, I was basically recommended to spend another almost $3000 on fillers. That was a bit of a turn off, but i decided to go with the Voluma, for volume loss and paid above and beyond the credit I had.Once the filler was injected, i was concerned as there was swelling, but i was reassured that this would go away, usually within a week. Well a week came and went and the results are still less than what I would expect.

I went back for a follow up and expressed my concerns to Melissa. She immediately stated that 'I then prefer to have no volume in my face?' Of course, she stated, this was a superior result and that sometimes other areas are affected that I may not like. She brought in Dr. Farkas who is Dr. Breslow's partner and I have to say his bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. I felt as if i was being punished for not being happy and it actually brought me to tears. I was uncomfortable enough to have to go in and complain about my result, as this is not something I have ever had to do. Melissa then said, while the doctor was there, 'didnt you have an issue before somewhere else and ask to have it be removed?'. I was stunned, as this is absolutely not true and felt as if I was being treated like a crazy person. Dr. Farkas made it clear, 'we will never do any fillers on you again because your expectations are not realistic and you cannot be made happy'. First, i was not planning on returning for more fillers there but second, I am not sure who says this to a patient, especially a patient who has spent a lot of hard earned money at your center. Needless to say, while I am thrilled with the work Dr. Breslow did, I am so disappointed at the treatment i received today with Dr. Farkas. There was no empathy shown and i was spoken to in a very condescending manner. A little tip to Dr. Farkas... you are in the practice, primarily, of working with aging women looking to improve their appearance. This is a delicate area and we are all very fragile when it comes to the results of procedures. Take some lessons from Dr. Breslow... that's why his name is on the door.
