Almost 6 weeks PO
It's almost been 6 weeks since my surgery and 3 weeks since hematoma surgery. Ive been feeling significantly better for a week now- no problems walking, can stand straight all day with out getting tired, and can sleep in any position. Im on my feet all day for work and have been doing fine. I basically feel back to normal at this point and my swelling continues to go down. I can start going back to the gym in a few days and am about to start using silicone strips to fade my scar (which is healing pretty well so far). Overall I've seen a dramatic improvement since my last post and am very excited to return to my normal life. Also I'm still wearing my binder 24/7 and just ordered some compression tops from Amazon.
Almost 4 weeks and still swollen
I go back to work on Thursday which marks 4 weeks since my TT. I'm still swollen to the point where my pre-op pants don't fit. Walking still gets exhausting after only a few blocks and I feel myself tightening up and wanting to hunch again. Having hematoma surgery put me back to how I felt during week 2 and I'm really getting anxious to resume somewhat normal activity.
I thought that being young, in shape, and having a month of down time would add up to a speedy recovery, but I was very wrong. I'm definitely afraid that I'm going to have this level of swelling for months and won't be able to go back to the gym until October. I'm happy that I got rid of my loose skin, but I currently feel very unattractive which I'm hoping won't last too much longer.

After losing about 110lbs and reaching my goal...
After losing about 110lbs and reaching my goal weight, I had loose skin that wasn't going away without surgery. The excess skin hung over my waist line and prevented me from having any visible abdominal definition. Im a 28 year old male and did not require any muscle repair. I teach at university and have summers off so I decided to book the procedure for the beginning of august, and am glad I did because the recovery takes time! I spent THREE weeks doing very little (which was all I could do) and during a follow up found out that I had a hematoma that needed to be evacuated through another surgery. My surgeon took care of it the next day, but the second surgery did set my recovery back a few days.
My loose skin was a major insecurity of mine, so I have no regrets regarding the surgery. This is a major procedure however, and anyone having it should give themselves ample recovery time and make sure to stay with someone for the first few days as you will need help doing most things.

I had never had surgery before and was nervous going through the process of consultations and eventually being operated on, but the staff at Baxt and Dr. Parakh made me feel very comfortable and at ease. A few weeks after surgery I had a hematoma that needed to be removed. After identifying it, Dr. Parakh went out of her way to get me in for evacuation surgery the next morning and everything went very well. Im still healing but am happy with my Tummy Tuck results so far.
