41 Years Old, Chin and Jaw Area Main Concern

ORIGINAL POST

I've started to see marionette lines appearing...

$3,200
I've started to see marionette lines appearing with mini jowels starting to form, also a mini double chin that just won't shift - no matter how much weight I lose.

I had my consultation and treatment this past Saturday. My Dr recommended exactly what I was expecting (I did my research) fillers in the marionettes with Kybella to dissolve the mini jowel area and double chin.

The actual procedure was fine, I get Botox and lip fillers so I'm fine with needles. The after burn which I've read about on here, I didn't find too bad but then again I do have a high pain tolerance. However, I did bruise and swell - total bullfrog!

I've included photos - pic where I'm in a grey top is the first day - super swollen. The others are today, which is day 3. The swelling has gone down a fair bit and the bruises have shifted south toward my chest.

Thankfully, it's the start of winter here so I'm fine to wear a scarf for a few weeks.

My second treatment (if needed) is set for the beginning of August.

It is pricy at $2800.00 for x2 treatments - but it is a permanent solution.

I'm excited to see how it all looks once the swelling and bruising settles.

My Dr was excellent. She listened to my concerns and exactly what I was expecting. She ran through my options with the pros and cons. Took her time, and I really felt looked after with my individual concerns addressed.

So exciting! Hang in there. It does take awhile for the swelling to decrease.
Thank you! I have to admit, when I was in full bullfrog mode I did freak out. The swelling has gone down A LOT, waiting for the hard bumps and remaining bruises to start fading soon hopefully.
I learned to do the following to prevent the terrible bruising I experienced the first time: 1. No fish oil for a week or two before 2. No anti inflammatories before 3. No green tea before 4. Take Arnica Montana for a few days before 5. Eat 1/2 of fresh pineapple the day before 6. Eat 1/4 a fresh pineapple morning before 7. Eat 1/4 fresh pineapple the day after This has REALLY helped me prevent the nasty bruising I experienced the first time. Good luck with round two! Please keep sharing photos with us.
Wow GREAT advice. I will definitely practice this in August when I get round 2. The no anti-inflammatories is the hard part for me as I've got injures that flare up. I'm persevering with simple analgesics atm though. I'm 100% sure it's going to all be worth it
How are you doing? Wishing you well.
Hi - the swelling went down really well after about 4 weeks.
Just had my second set of injections done this afternoon - i can already see there is no where near as much swelling as the first time, and no where near as much bruising.

I showed Dr my photos from the first set, and she was really shocked - worst swelling and bruising she's seen so far! As she was doing the injections this time, she said she definitely felt some swelling still present however a great result from the first session.
Next review set for October.

Pain has set in, but I'm just happy the swelling isn't as severe. I'll put some pics up tomorrow.

:)
Yes, I agree, I did not bruise or swell as much after the first round. Thank you for the update! You are thin, I am sure your results will be faster than mine, thankfully! Looking forward to seeing your photos. Thank you for sharing.
Hi do you have an update on your progress and photos? Booked in at the same place in 3 weeks time. Worried that it will look or feel lumpy... does it? Thanks
