Stitches removed

Keekee03
$7,500
Stitches were removed at 10 days, it was a painless process. There is a bit of swelling on the scalp, and some rippling. The scar looks hedious, but with time and ScarAway gel and pads it will fade.

Are you allowed to cover the scar with a headband or hat? Or would that conflict with the healing? Thanks!

Dr. Vogal said headbands and hats are okay to wear as long as its not too tight. At night im putting ScarAway pads on, and a headband on top of that.

Looks great! I'm getting my stitches removed on Monday. I can't wait!

Also, what did you use to clean your incision? The nurse said soap and water should be fine but I'm wondering if I should use hydrogen peroxide as well.

I did research on hydrogen peroxide for healing and you need to be careful, it can backfire on you. I would check with your doctor first. As I recall it can end up being an irritant rather than heal the area.

Really! Thank god I haven't used it yet. I called my doctors office and the front lady said it was okay to use but she sounded unsure to me so I decided to wait on it and call again later when my nurse or dr. are free to talk. What did you use to clean your incision?

I had all dissolvable stitches and my PS had me do NOTHING. I was shocked, but he said just wash my hair period. That may have been due to the dissolvable stitches. I've seen SO many different protocols by so many different PS. I say follow your PS's instructions to the T -- they know how their patients have responded. Good luck!

NO! Don't use hydrogen peroxide. Only use exactly what they tell you. Hydrogen peroxide can actually prevent the wound from healing.

6/15/16 Update

Swelling is completely gone, hair is starting to grow through the incision, and the odd sensations have gone away for the most part. Still feels like im wearing my a hat that is too tight, and I still don't have much feeling on the top of my head towards the front.

It's amazing how fast the hair is growing. Your forehead looks great already. Wishing you a fast recovery.

I know this may sound so silly but how exactly do they lower the hairline? Do they get rid of the extra skin? I'm looking to get a forehead reduction but I don't want any hair transplanted

I've had his procedure done in May. My scar is hideous but I've been using Scaraway strips and gel. Now I have nothing but time and patience and hopefully my scar starts to fade away. I always hid my forehead since I was a teen so I wear scarves to hide my scar
