Hi Explant Sisters! Hope everyone is well and taking good care of themselves. So it will be 3 weeks tomorrow since I had my implants removed, and I am so excited to be starting my workouts! Yay! I went for a ver long and fast power-walk the other day and unfortunately ended up with a blister on my ribcage, from my sports bra (the band) rubbing at the edge of the steri-strips. Ouch!! The skin was rubbed right off, but thankfully it is nowhere near my incision. I think it will be okay for a run as long as I keep some gauze overtop of it to protect from my sports-bra band.
Here is a picture from yesterday - its hard to tell if I am getting 'perkier' or not, because I see myself everyday, and I am being kind of hard on myself for being out of shape and gaining weight. Oh well - that will all take care of itself now that I can workout again. I am so pumped!!! I am going to stick to practicing yoga at home today, I am worried about picking up germs since I have this open blister. The last thing I want is an infection.
And tomorrow I start 12 weeks of "therapeutic movement" Yoga Teacher Training - yay!!!! I am already certified in hatha yoga, but this will be something different and really help me in my ultimate goal of teaching yoga to veterans and others with depression, eating disorders etc. (all on a volunteer, non-profit basis).
Here are my pics! Thanks for reading and please keep me updated on your progress, healing, etc!

Hi Lotusgirl ~
Your post surgery pics are beautiful ~ you look so much better natural! Are you able to fully stretch now, reach your hands above your head, etc. I think I may have been babying myself too much, as I am afraid to even try all that yet! Good luck to you with your training. I think that's wonderful how you are planning to use that training. Wishing you the best!

Hi Realself members - just wanted to let you know that I had my implants removed 10 days ago and I am very happy. I wrote another review on it separately, if you want to check it out. Same PS, who has been awesome the entire time. We are all so different - implants are great for some people, and not for others, zero judgment. Its a very personal decision. Good luck to all of you no matter what you are doing - just be true to yourself and love your body! All the best!

Hi! I am a 43 yo mother of one who is considering implants. I am 'maybe" a 36 AA; no breast tissue whats-so-ever. Your natural shape is beautiful btw. I am a marathon runner, weight trainer and avid workout person. I am looking to get 225 CC implants. Were can I read about your story about having your implants removed? I am interested to read that; in light that we are both active and like to be fit. Did that have any bearing on you having your implants removed?

Steri-Strips off! I feel nauseous just looking at scars....

User Avatar

Hi all! This morning I had a follow-up with my ps and he took the steri strips off, and just told me to let them be, no cream, no oils, no steri-strips/silicone etc --- its stresses me out a little bit cuz I don't want the skin to stretch and the scars to get bigger etc....
Did anyone else's doc say just to leave the scars alone to heal naturally? He says everything is looking good - and that I am still swollen.
I hope that my nipples will look better over time, they are freaking me out a little bit - I have actually been feeling sick to my stomach all day after looking at the scars - I think reality has finally hit that I had major surgery and that there is a risk of complications from healing etc and that the scars could end up looking hideous -- anyone else have these moments of panic?

Too big as in the circumference or diameter way or they are projecting too much?

Ya, like the circumference - I think I got used to seeing them with the stern strips on (look smaller that way) and also I haven't seen them "in full" since before I breast-fed, cuz they were always hanging down, I guess I only saw part of them lol! I don't know, do they look big? They are a bit "oval" looking, but I guess that is how they were before, I just never noticed.

Yeah, I feel the same way too when the tape comes off. I wonder if part of it is the stitches creating a darker border for a while that makes them look more noticeable. But I think yours look like a good size and will look great as everything heals up. I do remember from my last surgery and this one they my nipples seemed to stand at attention like all the time, which made them feel more noticeable to me as well, but as time goes on that settled down as well.

Thats good to hear that they settled down a bit. Thanks for saying that they look ok, I guess I am my own worst critic.... I am getting more used to the size every day.

Mine is having me keep steri strips on the scars for 6 weeks then will switch over to silicone treatment. And yes, I am terrified of how scars could turn out, I'm about 25 days out, but see so many good results on here that it makes me feel better. And I'm babying them so I think we should be good.
