My experience with Ottawa Plastic Surgery has been perfect...from my first consultation to post-operative. Everyone at the Ottawa Plastic Surgery Clinic has been extremely helpful and patient with me as I had (and still have) many questions about my Breast Augmentation and Mastopexy. It has only been 1 week since my surgery and I am doing great! I LOVE the results from my artist and miracle worker, Dr. Silverman. He made me feel like the woman that I have been wanting to feel like since I was 10 years old. I had asymmetrical, fat boy boobs and now I have big beautiful breasts! I can't thank him enough! And his private clinic is the icing on the cake. Who wants to get this type of surgery done at a hospital, where the majority of the patients are sick? I felt completely safe and cared for at his facility. My nurse Dena was awesome! I was spoiled by her! My anesthesiologist was informative and comforting. And the army of nurses and assistants in the operating room did whatever they did to help Dr. Silverman work his magic. Thank you! My only regret is not doing this surgery sooner. And my only advice to new patients is DO NOT HAVE A BUDGET. This is not the time to save money. You are paying for perfection, experience and a safe environment. My breasts were worth every penny and my husband and I LOVE them! I HIGHLY recommend Dr Silverman and his team.
I am currently 4 weeks post op from having a mommy make over (tummy tuck, breast augmentation & lift). The whole experience has totally surpassed my expectations. I met with several doctors before deciding on Dr. Silverman and I am so happy that I choose to proceed with him. He takes extra precaution prior to surgery (like cleansing sponges & antibiotics) which some local doctors do not. His admin team are so quick to respond and that was also a big deciding factor for me considering other offices took days/weeks. He was one of the only doctors able to perform all 3 surgeries at one time and the only local doctor (that I spoke with) that has many years of experience with drainless tummy tucks. His facility is clean, he is very professional and the results he delivers are mind blowing. My incision lines are so clean it is hard to believe I had all this work done. Recovery has been great; I would do this again in a heart beat it if meant getting the same results. I contemplated this surgery for a while and I am so glad I found the courage to do it, it is life changing.
Dr. Silverman is the absolute best. Including his before & after team. I was treated with the upmost respect and never felt like I asking silly questions even though I was. I had a moment of tears and fear right before surgery and Dr. Silverman grabbed my hand and held it without hesitation to let me know I was not alone. My recovery & results are amazing and I am so great-full for him and his team. I had three children 6,4&3 and needed a muscle repair and tummy tuck. Thank you again so much Dr.Silverman Shelby!
Dr. Silverman is a truly an artist, he is incredibly meticulous and passionate about his work. He has built a practice on hard work and dedication to patient care and satisfaction. My reasons for plastic surgery are deeply personal and Dr. Silverman has been like a common thread in my story. You can speak to any other medical doctor and/or nurse in the Ottawa area and they will agree that Dr. Silverman is the best! I am soo pleased with the outcome of my surgery. Besides the obvious aesthetic differences, I have regained my post-cancer posture and I can sit and stand confidently without support - my children exclaimed "Dr. S is a magician!" Thank you just doesn't do justice to what this man has given me, he has changed my quality of life for the better and he has made a huge impact on my life. Thank you for being part of my story Dr. Silverman.
My journey for a breast augmentation has been a long one, and something I did not take lightly. I reached out to Dr. Silverman, at Ottawa Plastic Surgery, for a consultation because of his highly esteemed reputation in the industry. I am now two months post-op and I cannot say enough about how amazing this entire process has been – and my end result is beyond what I could have ever imagined! Dr. Silverman and his incredible team made me feel comfortable and welcomed from our first meeting. I never felt rushed or pressured into any decision; my questions were honestly answered and my worries were addressed. The entire process felt transparent and easy. Dr. Silverman listened to my concerns and the result I was hoping to achieve. Together, we came up with a plan that was realistic for my body/breast type and reflective of my goal. There is no question, Dr. Silverman’s work is done with thorough precision, time and care. He is especially skilled at achieving a natural, symmetrical look despite the uniqueness of each individual. The professionalism, integrity and cosmetic work of Dr. Silverman lives up to his reputation. Thank you, Dr. Silverman and team! I couldn’t be happier with my entire experience and for my new-found confidence! A special thank you to Vanessa for always checking in and up on me and being there to answer my questions!! I am appreciative and grateful to all of you. If you are curious about the process of having a cosmetic procedure done, Ottawa Plastic Surgery is a great place to start!
Dr Silverman, you are my favourite human. My personal magician. What you gave me, my pre-mom body back, is more than I hoped for. June 28, in the OR, you created magic with my tummy tuck, lipo, breast lift and fat transfer. As you said "you're back". I am flat as a board, I have curves and high beams. No more Madonna cone breasts here. We met in 2006 when you got rid of the stubborn fat that my rigorous exercise and diet couldn't fix and now, you've brought "her" back again. Dr. Silverman, Vanessa, Victoria, Brenda.... amazing humans with hearts of gold. If you ever want the best surgeon, the best staff and an overall exceptional experience, this is where you need to be.
I don't normally leave reviews, but I am so excited about the results of my surgery that I want to leave a review so others can find a very knowledgable and skillful plastic surgeon in Ontario, Canada. I was looking for a Plastic surgeon to have my breast implants removed and get them lifted at the same time. I looked for the top 3 Plastic surgeon in Ottawa (I live 2 hours away) and my intuition pulled me towards Dr. Silverman. I booked a consultation and got to meet the lovely staff (Vanessa and Victoria) and Dr. Silverman. I explained clearly what I wanted and I mentioned that I had issues with my implants, I just didn't' want them anymore and they were too big for me and the nipples were sitting a little low. Dr. Silverman was very polite and explained all my options to make my breasts look very appealing to me, just to make sure that I was 100% sure I wanted them removed. I was sure, so we agreed on breast implant removal and I asked Dr. Silverman if he could position my areola higher so they are not pointing downwards. He said "Yes, I can do that". I felt I could trust his words. I had to go for Mammogram and Ultrasound (I had never had them done before and I am 52 years old). The staff was amazing at arranging all that for me. My surgery was on June 28th, 2022 and today is July 15th, 2022. So I am a little over 2 weeks post op. The operation was at a very nice Clinic where the staff were equally kind and skilled. My surgery went very well and I have to say, my breasts already look incredible. They look perfect. Yes, they are not healed yet and I just came back from the Office because some of the stitches had to be removed by a nurse (she was wonderful, her name is Brenda), but I am healing nicely and I already love the look and feel of my breasts. The areola are perfectly positioned in the middle, just the way I wanted them, and my boyfriend loves them as much as I do, he has been my great supporter form the beginning. I am super excited about the healing process and getting back to exercising the upper body. Dr. Silverman did an amazing job, I am grateful for my intuition to choose him as my Plastic Surgeon.
I had been unhappy with my saggy, stretchmarked breasts since I was a teenager (14 yo and onward) and just uncomfortable being topless and hated finding bras that could contain my breasts while doing physical activities (lots of flopping around). Last spring (2021) I had a consultation where Dr. Silverman. I went in with only knowing I wanted to remove a lot of breast tissue and didn't have a cup size in mind (just perkier and smaller). Dr. Silverman showed me what he thought was best in terms of size and told me that the change would be drastic enough that the scars would be worth it for me. He wasn't pushy on the surgery at all, even saying he could recommend some bras if I didn't want to go ahead with it. The consultation may be a little disconcerting for anyone who is shy/self-conscious about nudity. I had about 3 people see me topless first visit and then I just got used to being topless when I was there after that (the paper gowns seem like a waste by the end of all of your post-surgery follow up visits lol). My surgery was scheduled for the morning on October 2021 in Quebec. I was pretty anxious for months beforehand, never having had surgery or general anaesthetic before. After arriving on surgery day, everything went very quickly and I didn't really have time for too many nerves - although I was certainly in a cold sweat. Met Dr. Silverman in a small room where he drew the lines on my chest for surgery with a marker. I think the anaesthesiologist also came in and asked me a few questions as well (that part isn't clear). They both asked me if I had any questions/concerns and then we went into the surgery room. I laid down on the table and my arms were out perpendicular to my body and strapped down (like I was on a cross). The surgical nurses were very nice to me and reassuring. I tried not to panic (deep breathing) and next thing I knew I was in the recovery room asking the nurses groggy questions. Dr. Silverman's resident came in to check on me and then I was on my way home. Dr. Silverman provided a prescription for stronger painkilling drugs but I ended up not using any of them. For the first 2 days I did a preventative mix of Alleve (naproxen) with Tylenol(acetaminophen). But I really didn't have any post-operative pain at all (lucky I guess). The worst part of it all was not being able to sleep on my stomach (torture for me). I learned to use a body pillow on my side. Against the advice of Dr. Silverman, I was playing hockey again about 2/3 weeks post surgery, making sure to shower right after. I did adhere to the regimen of wearing the post-operative bra 24/7 and it's a good idea to have at least 2 of them. If they weren't so ugly I'd be wearing them all the time (they are really convenient/comfortable). I did try using silicone strips for better scar healing, but honestly it's a lot of work to maintain (taking them on and off for bathing etc) and my scars are looking pretty good imo. When I first saw my "new" breasts, I was very happy even with all the bruising and stitches still there. There was that worry that maybe the nipples would be at a weird angle/too high but the areola size & placement and the overall shape are very pleasant to me and I am happy with Dr. Silverman's aesthetic decisions. After surgery, I went to visit the clinic regularly for follow up appts @ 1 week, 3 weeks ... I think for a total of 4/5 check ups? Sometimes meeting Dr. Silverman, Nurse Brenda, or Vanessa. All were very nice and polite with me. Overall, I am super happy with the results. I now feel comfortable in all types of clothing (low cut shirts, bikini tops, etc) and I am actually the same bra size as I was to begin with (no new bras needed, woo). Against Dr. Silverman's recommendations, I also go braless way too often (don't be like me!). Thanks Dr. Silverman and co.!
Incredible experience from start to finish! From my consultation, through surgery and aftercare I knew I was in great hands. The entire team is professional and friendly and I could not be more happy with my results.
I am very satisfied with my experienced with Dr. Silverman, he is extremely knowledgeable and will provide you with every possible options. He answered every questions or concerns I had and never did I feel rushed. The booking process was smooth and I appreciated the follow ups (never did I once felt forgotten).
It appears that your breasts have a normal and natural shape and position. However, if you want more cleavage, adding volume might help, either with fat grafting or an implant. This of course will make your breasts larger. It is not generally possible to change the breast's natural footprint on your chest, without significant disruption to the breast's normal and natural architecture and is not advised. If you are not averse to a larger breast, then consider breast augmentation. Otherwise, as I'm sure you are aware, a good bra will do the same while dressed.
I do not ask my patients to massage their breasts at all after surgery. In fact, your surgeon should create a pocket in your breast that fits your implant perfectly, and massage can actually impact on the healing and dimensions of this pocket in a negative way. Massage will not remedy improperly placed implants, though sometimes can help with discomfort after surgery. Regardless, no massage is indicated for my patients after surgery, and I would suggest you check with your surgeon to discuss his/her post-operative regime. Some surgeons do feel that massage is helpful.
From your photos, it appears that you would be an excellent candidate for a breast augmentation. You should discuss your desires with your partner, but ultimately it is important that you make the best decision for yourself. Certainly, breast augmentation is generally a safe and successful procedure. While there is currently some controversy amongst plastic surgeons regarding the safety of certain types of textured surface implants, no such controversy is present at this time regarding smooth surfaced implants, which are the type most commonly used in North America. Another alternative is fat grafting, though this tends to provide a more modest augmentation and you must have adequate fat elsewhere to provide fat cells for this procedure, which may take more than one procedure to accomplish. Best bet is to meet with a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in breast augmentation to get the facts. Bring your boyfriend to the consult, and perhaps his concerns could be addressed as well. Good luck!
After pregnancy and breastfeeding, many women note significant changes in the volume, shape and consistency of their breasts. The pregnancy will result in breast enlargement, and stretching of the skin envelope of the breast. However, once breast-feeding is complete, the breasts will tend to involute and lose volume, with conversion of some of the glandular breast tissue to fatty tissue, which may result in a lax skin envelope, descent of the breast, loss of breast tissue volume, and a less firm consistency. Once your weight has stabilized, and you have ceased lactation for several months, then have an assessment performed by a skilled plastic surgeon. If you are pleased with the amount of breast volume that you have, then a lift alone will often suffice. However, if you find that your breasts are smaller than you would like, adding an implant to the lift can restore upper pole fullness, volume and projection of the breast. Appropriate selection of implant size and style should not result in an over-augmented look. It is important to understand, though, that a lift alone will tend to result in a smaller looking breast, even though minimal breast tissue is removed, as the breast is made more compact and compressed, depending on the technique used. Finally, a lift alone will not reliably create more upper pole fullness in the breast, so if this is what you seek, then perhaps an implant is necessary. An auto-augmentation performed during a breast lift procedure transfers the lax lower portion of the breast into the upper portion, and this can enhance the shape and projection of the breast after a lift, sometimes even resembling an implant. I have had great success with this technique, though it adds a layer of technical difficulty to the procedure. Best to ask your surgeon! good luck,
You are wise to express your concerns about ultimate results from a facelift. A facelift is a general term for a complex operation that can address changes in multiple levels and dimensions of your facial appearance, including laxity and descent of skin, descent and deflation of fat pads in the cheeks, jowl and neck, descent and laxity of muscular or fibrous tissues that sit on top of the facial muscles, or even the bony structure of your face. Each of these factors must be analyzed and addressed by your surgeon in order to achieve optimal results. The windswept look often refers to a combination of an artificially elevated hairline, repositioning of elevated skin flaps in un-natural directions, and excessively tight closure, especially around the base of the ear and earlobe. These are all technical considerations that your surgeon will evaluate and address, and will actually be unique and different for each patient. I don't think that one technique will work well for all patients, and your surgeon should be skilled in performance of a variety of approaches in order to tailor the results to best suit your needs. I know that perhaps a more definitive answer would be desired, but you need to do your homework, choose your surgeon carefully, and communicate your concerns and desires well. Good luck!
