Midlife Tuneup at 52 Yrs - Ottawa, ON

I’ve been thinking about this procedure for several years. Faced with downsizing my bras a third time, I decided to finally follow through. Re-entering the dating game has been another motivator!

The doctor is harvesting fat from thighs, hips and flanks. Will post photos the day before surgery.

I definitely have mixed feelings about the surgery tomorrow. The procedure is certainly indulgent and reveals an insecurity that many would not associate with me. One part of me is proud of my mature body, one that reminds that I'm a mother. Another part me, the one that is facing dating again feels inadequate.

The procedure went well. The pain is minimal. Fortunately, I sleep on my back which helps to reduce the pain.

Five sites were harvested: inner thighs, outer thighs, flanks and a bit on inner knees and at the buttock fold to improve the contour of the leg. The areas around the sites are all still quite numb. Let’s hope the pain remains manageable as feeling returns.

The doctor injected 450 ccs into each breast, overfilling to compensate for some reduction to restore my former 34C/36B. He did a splendid job on the cleavage as my breasts were quite spread apart - from what I can see, they appear more balanced on my frame.

The dressing on my chest need to remain in place for a week so I can’t post pictures yet. The lipo sites are oozing too much for pics. So, stay tuned - sometime this week.
