Self-tie Two-jaw with No Fixation / 3 Months of Recovery

WORTH IT
My case was long face syndrome where maxilla needed to be pushed up and forward, mandible swung forward. My face type preference was like BTS idols, so I decided Korea would be the best place to go.
As I planned my coming to Seoul in the end of February, I set few appointments to visit several surgery clinics first before I make a decision. Some other clinics I had consultations with were JK and Face Dental but both me and my mom decided that Regen fitted me the most.
On Feb 25 was my first consultation with Dr.Oh and few days later I came back to confirm my operation. About a week after we met him again to discuss a surgical process and design. The operation I proceeded called self-tie two-jaw surgery. The next day after operation Dr.Oh put special dental elastic bands on wires that were installed on my teeth before the surgery (I attached few pics for you). On day 2 after another examination and dressing I was able to return to the hotel.
The first few days, I suppose, were the most brutal. I could drink only liquids with no lumps or fibers, only very clear liquids due to maintain my oral hygiene. A week after I got post-op laser treatment and drain removal (from the back of my head, didn’t feel it at all and didn’t even know that there was smth LOL). Another week later sutures were removed. Btw, swelling was wild after that as I had to open my mouth wide enough. On week 3 when I was supposed to go back home I was taught to change those elastic bands myself as I had to keep them 1 more month.
Today it’s been 3 months already and I feel great. I don’t keep the wafer and already removed elastics with metallic wired from my teeth. I think my results are quite satisfied. Although, I’m still a bit swollen but everyone keeps saying that it definitely worth it. I still have to keep an eye on food I eat (nothing too hard, hot or cold) but I know it’s only temporary, so it doesn’t bother me much.
P.s. please, don’t pay many attention on my hair I’m just about to change it LOL.

Okay, I just wanted to post a little update since it'll be 4 months post-op in 4 days already. I think my bones are still healing. I can open my mouth wide enough but still try to eat only solid food, perhaps staring from next month I'll eat some solid food

Sweetie have you heard of Mewing? look on YouTube

Hi, I just saw your comment and it reminded me of my visit to Mike mew w years ago. It was tough because he said I have to change my habit by myself and he only had 1 adult.patient at that.time he worked with. He only worked with kids previously. I was about to give up and do surgery but I guess I'll give myself till end of this year to see if I can change the habit and keep my mouth closed and tongue on roof by myself.

Wow you actually met Dr Mew? He’s all over YouTube. Yes, it’s all about daily habit change. I’ve been at it for over two years now. Great results! It just seem to all make perfect sense to me. It’s what I’ve been searching for my whole life. Another bonus: no surgery no costs, no healing (except when I had my tongue tie removed). I wish you the best, it’s certainly a journey
