I am 8 weeks post op from SARPE surgery
I am doing great! I did develop a fistula because my expansion was so massive but glue and antibiotics closed it up within a week. I have a bit of numbness and tingling in my upper lip and my nose, but my feeling is about 80% back. I still have some residual swelling but it’s hardly notice to other ppl lol. I have to have the expander in for 4-5 more months. I start bottom braces on the 28th of this month and hopefully top braces in about 2, my jaw has to heal a bit more. Ask any questions and I’ll answer them!!
Gap is growing
So I’ve been turning the key to the expander for bout 4 days now and the gap is really growing. I can see it because my lip is still swollen and covering my teeth. But I do check it everyday to see how big it’s growing with each turn. I really hope I don’t have to walk around with this gap for too long . I have about 14 more days of turning including today. That’s 28 turns, I do one in the morning and one in the evening.
