I've had large breasts since I was a teenager but unfortunately, my breasts were never perky. I could always play magic tricks with my breasts by making things 'disappear' under my breast tissue. My droopy breasts never allowed me to wear certain dresses or tops and I actually think it would have been better to have smaller breasts than saggy breasts. But I digress. As my breasts got a little smaller as I've lost weight, I decided it was finally time to get a breast lift. It's a big decision to have elective surgery and I contemplated it for years. Finally, I had the money so I just needed the nerve to do it and to find the right doctor. I had consultations with 2 doctors and I believe both would have been great choices. However, I went with the one that was much closer to my house and luckily, he was also nearly $2500 less. It has been one month from my surgery date and I am extremely happy with the result. People say this a lot but I do wish that I had done it sooner.
Dr. Soto did an amazing job and the recovery was far easier than I imagined. I didn't feel great returning home the day of my surgery but I didn't feel awful either. I took a couple of pain meds for the first 2 days after my surgery and stopped after that. I didn't feel I needed them and I didn't like the 'come down' feeling they gave me. I was moving a little slower and taking it easy but by the third day I was out visiting family as if nothing happened. It takes a few days to get the anesthesia and antibiotics out of your system but I felt normal shortly thereafter and there was no impact to my work.
It has been a month and I am still wearing the support bra but the swelling has diminished and the scars are fading. It was definitely all worth it. I have not been fitted for a new bra yet but I'm sure that I will be wearing a smaller size. I have zero issue with this though. I knew my breasts would lose a little size but my husband says they actually look larger and that I look slimmer and I do! Since my breasts are where they're supposed to be, my silhouette looks more proportional. It's a wonderful side effect. I would wholeheartedly recommend this procedure if you're unhappy with your 'less than perky' breasts.
